That is total crap but I have a feeling that it really wouldn't have made that much difference. There must be more to the story about the bar fight. I have a feeling it wasn't that one sided.
I have a feeling Purify might be a few pounds lighter after Callahan gets a hold of him.
In other news, Leon Patton is still suspended for not making the big 12 honor roll.Damn, the differences between Prince and Callahan.I'm proud to call myself a Kansas State football fan.
solich was not good with the discipline. he had no policy and some times he would even let the team vote on what should happen toi a player. Callahan has kickedd off several starters already and atleast one was more crucial to our success than purify
Translation: We're scared to face this guy, know we can't beat you guys regardless, are embarrassed that we don't have anyone close to as talented on the roster, know you're going to wipe the floor with us yet again, and can only rationalize being so crappy by pretending to be the classier team.
I just got back from eating with one of the Vice Chancellors in Lincoln. He is mortified. There were about 25-30 staff and faculty members in attendance and each thought the radio station was joking when the news broke. We ended up having about a 30-minute discussion about Lawrence Phillips and the similarity between the situations. I have to keep my bias to a minimum at these functions but did offer that it was an embarrassment and everyone in attendance agreed whole-heartedly. Truly a disgrace to the Big 12. To give the Corn credit, the sports call in shows here did light up with almost all callers being angry and embarresed about the 1 game suspension. There were your normal Corn homers that thought this was "fair" but about 80-90% of calls were stongly negative towards the actions of Classlesshan. This has taken the University of Nebraska down to a level never seen from a Big 12 team. I just hope they can claw their way out of the hole they just dug themselves.

ordeal was worse, the situation with Roberson.
QuoteThis has taken the University of Nebraska down to a level never seen from a Big 12 team. That post shows a complete lack of history or perspective. The Lawrence Phillips ordeal was worse (that occurred right as the conference was getting started)...as was the situation with Roberson. How about Oklahoma being put on probation? How about Colorado and the exposure of their recruiting tactics, with strippers, prostitutes, etc. for the high school kids they wanted to recruit. The list goes on.If you argue that Purify got off too lightly, you have a decent argument. But acting like this is the worst and most embarrassing thing that's even happened to a Big 12 team in the history of the conference just makes you sound like an imbecile.

And IMO all he did wrong was stay out past curfew. Snyder didn't want to have him associated with the university let alone the program. He also sent out a letter appologizing for Ell's actions. Guess what, RP would have done the same or been harsher. Winning a couple more games isn't worth a huge black eye on the program.
