I never thought I'd say this, but...four years, only $1.7 million?  That can't be much above the league minimum.  Anybody know what Clayton's contract money was like?  Apparently the 49ers didn't release the financial info when he signed.

    Powertard Un-approved
rook's beyond the top couple rounds don't get much in the way of signing bonus.  After rd 3 the odds of making the team drop off drastically and the players drafted there are willing to sign just to make the big paycheck for a few weeks or months.  Its a buyer's (team) market and they aren't paying bonuses for that.

    Gettin' angried up!!!
Are NFL contracts guaranteed, or does he have to make the team each of the four years to be paid?  Either way, him signing a four year deal at least hints at what the Texans hope to see from him.

Typo.  He just graduated (or left school anyway) last year, so no way he's 27.  (Unless he's a Morman or played minor league baseball first, and I don't believe either is the case here.)

Well he is a 7th rounder, so - that's OK i guess. Hey my job will net me a whopping $208,000 over the same time period... and I HAVE to produce. Diles can get hurt for 2.5 yrs, get better, and STILL get that fat bonus for the 4th year. Plus, thinking like a COMPLETE degenerate - put a $$ figure on the poon-tang that he will be recieving! OK, so it's not a block buster deal - but when all that booty falls into his lap... uh, that sounds pretty good to me!

Clayton... I was shocked that he got THAT much. He disappointed for much of his career, a specimin - no question... but NFL, you will never know.
