based on history, only 23% of the Big 12 CCG participants had a first year starting QB.

I would imagine that 23% of teams (give or take 5-10%) in the big 12 have a first year starting QB in any given year making that stat meaningless.

And in the history of the Big 12 conference no freshman in either division has ever led their team to a conference championship game. Only two sophomores, Eric Crouch and Major Applewhite, have led their teams to the title game-ironically in 1999 with Crouch's NU team beating Applewhite's Texas team. So basically, teams with juniors and senior QBs are the ones to look at if you want to know who is going to be playing in San Antonio this year.

I wouldn't worry (well I would if I were Kansas State) about Keller. His transfer is unprecedented in the history of the Big 12 and perhaps the history of college football. He's doing just fine right now.

Sorry, I had to laugh.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Name me a probable 1st round NFL QB that has transferred before his final year of eligibility?

There has never been one and probably never will be one.  These are easy questions.

I'm pretty sure that Applewhite beat Crouch in 1999.

Not in the CCG. Texas beat NU down in Austin during the season.

How many "first year starting QBs" are also fifth-year seniors, with big game experience against top teams like USC and LSU, and have scouts drooling over their first round NFL talent.

Apples to oranges. But it does amuse me how terrified you guys seem of what Keller will do in this offense...hence the daily threads about how he's destined to fail.

If Texas won in Austin, surely they also won the CCG.

On the list of QB's in the conference I am "terrified" of, Keller is not at the top.  He couldn't carry Daniels' jock in a wheelbarrow.

No.  Those are two different stats.  You are talking about total teams in a given season that start a 1st time starter in the ENTIRE Big 12.   I am talking about CCG game participants.   The two are mutually exclusive.

Yeah-Chase Daniel is a midget with no NFL future who has a history of outstanding wins. Lets see...Illinois, New Mexico, Middle Tennessee..

I think we're going to drop the football program this year and spend more time and money on women's volleyball. Guess I'll sell my flat-panel TV and get rid of DirecTv. Can I still hang out with you guys? Please....... :jail:

Oh, my mistake, I was of the understanding that Big 12 CCG participants had to come from the ENTIRE Big 12.

According to NCAA Football 08, KEller is 4h best QB in the league behind McCoy, Daniels, and whoever A&M has.  Either this is the best QB class ever to come out of one conference or Keller is not a first rounder.

That being said, a video game does not make it accurate, especially in the preseason.  However, just about the only place with Keller hype is Nebraska, even less accurate.  The rest of the nation isn't calling him a potential first rounder.  I personally would be surprised to see him go any earlier than the third.
