I don't know about that Rob Jackson, but this one was a 3*, which means he's good.

interesting.  Your Rob Jackson is the same guy as my Rob Jackson only you took his rating out of JC when most of the complaining is about kids ranking coming out HIGH SCHOOL.

but I could be wrong.

Actually I'm not wrong...Jackson was a two star signee for Syracuse out of high school but as long as he's a 3 star two years into JC..well that makes it all gravy.  Had we signed him straight out of high school he wouldn't be any good right now even if he is the same person.

Disagree with CATZ. Rivals juco ranked 3 stars = sh** most of the time.  Lets remember all those crappy program killing rivals 4 & 5 star juco players.

Props to prince and his SCOUTING.  Which looks to be better than rivals experts.

I'm not sure it's possible.

 :jerkoff:
As a non believer in stars, I feel it is still worth noting Jackson was known to be a very likely non qualifier; hence, few offers and no sniff from rivals.

Hell, Jerrell McDaniel might have been better than Lamark Brown last year in St Louis but everyone knew he was not going to qualify so he didn't get any pub.

Another good example would be Gary Chandler.  Everyone knew he wouldn't qualify so no one really gave him much attention.  He goes to JuCo and impresses.  Rivals and scout go off of leads but they are terrible at true evaluations.  If a kid is likely headed JuCo, he is going to get snubbed.  If Chandler isn't a good example, then check out Tommy Duhart from Coffeyville last year.  That guy was one of the best players on Glade Central in high school and he was a low 2 stars!!!  He goes to JuCo and wham bam he is a 4 star can't miss stud.  Sorry but the kid didn't go from chump to champ that quick.

Exactly.  2* Rob Jackson sucks... 3* Rob Jackson is fantastic.  I'm glad Prince uses Rivals and offerred the 3* Rob Jackson.

Do you have facts to back that up.  On the rivals top 100 list there are always players that don't make grades but keep their stars.

There are some exceptions to all but it only takes looking at JuCo rankings and then finding those kids in the profiles from a few years before to figure it out.

If a kid is a bounce back, then that is a different story.

That is a possibility but who is to say?  It was likely Pinchback was going to be a non-qualifier but he was a 3 star and had a very nice group of offers.

By my count some of the top players in the Big 12 this year will be Anthony Collins and Talib of ku, Watts, Jackson, and Campbell of KSU, David Washington of OSU...all were 2 star kids.  Dantrelle Savage of OSU and Alvin Bowen of ISU were not even in the database.

    Hey, basketball!!!
Yes, we do. And another thing we do know about Rob was that he was the first JUCO DE to not screw us in a couple of years, by switching schools late.

Rob Jackson.  :notworthy:

manhatter,
I am not saying stars are the measure of if a kid is good.  I am saying that more times than not, a kid that isn't going to qualify will not generate 'star buzz' by the services.

And for the people that want to play the game of this guy didn't have his stars stolen, I will come up with far more than you.  Here is one that I can recall right off the top of my head.  He had offers from everyone.  He ended up almost unranked despite being a high 4 star rivals 100 guy early on.

Gary Chandler's 4.70 40 at the Nike Camp really didn't help his case.  But at JUCO he supposedly got a hell of alot faster! (4.43)
Recruiting is just a big tease.
