Football is a team sport. Tard.

There were a bunch of issues with the 2003 defense that were related to strength and conditioning as well. I wouldn't expect you to know too much about that though. I know you think you know everything that goes on in the NU program but you don't ya dick.

sure...go another direction.  You said Solich couldn't recruit..the NFL disagrees but you are correct and the NFL is wrong.  Good stuff.

Only a dummy would bury their head in the sand and think Nebraska is going to be an average team for the forseeable future. The teams that kicked sand in NU's face are going to start getting paid back big starting in 2007. The rest of the North division better get their crap together.

I know the Norte' is scared as hell about Callahan.  What is he now at Nebraska?  A game or two above .500 in conference play?

Overall I think NU's talent level on defense is roughly the same...maybe less than what Solich had.  Offensively you have more pro-style players...we'll see how they pan out.  But nobody is shaking in their boots.

There was zero depth on Solich's teams. When the 2007 recruiting class all gets on campus, Nebraska will be loaded with NFL talent on both sides of the ball. Don't kid yourself about coaches in the North not paying attention to what's going on. They are. By the end of 2007, they'll all be re-evaluating the type of players they need to recruit to compete with Nebraska.

Let me guess...some 2007 recruit took a visit down to Manhattan and his father told you we can't compete w/ Nebraska...that it?

    Gettin' angried up!!!
Yeah Frank won 10 games in 2003 and was blown out against Texas, Kansas State and Missouri. I just bet you wish Frank was still the coach here.

And Callahan's first full class of HS recruits were either redshirt freshmen or true sophomores last year. Might want to hold off on your "Big Red is Dead" crap.
Pretty sure Solich never had 70 points hung on him.  That's a blowout for ya.

excruciatingly embarrassing given the starting talent on NU's '04 defense...

'04:
DE Carriker (1-13)
DT Smith, Le Kevin (6-206)
DT Adams,Titus (7-220)
LB Ruud (2-36)
LB  Bradley,Stewart (3-87)
CB  Washington  (1-23)
FS  Bullocks, J. (2-40)
SS  Bullocks, D.(2-40)

But don't forget...Nebraska has "more" talent now than a defense which had two - 1st rounders, three - 2nd rounders, and yet another 1st day pick in Bradley.

Yep...a "depth" issue...or something like that.

Hell, Bernard Thomas was the End starting opposite Carriker.  Thomas was the big time kid signee at DE...not Carriker or Moore.  Thomas was in the Cali-Texas all-star game and highly recruited.  Carriker and Moore had much better careers and were drafted.  Shows you what recruiting rankings do for you.

Moore was a four star recruit and one of the top 10 DEs in the country as a senior. And what's even funnier is Nebraska hasn't had a good DL coach since Charlie McBride retired. Jeff Jamrog was a turd. John Blake wasn't much better. When Jay Moore is saying he learned more in 2 weeks of bowl practices under Buddy Wyatt than he did in 2 years under Blake, that tells you something. Those players were terribly undercoached.

we told you John Blake sucked as a DL coach...NU fans said he was awesome.  Now that he's gone he's no longer any good.

It's sort of like going into last year we had no options at receiver if JF played...now that Figurs is gone we no longer have options.  It goes round and round and round.

Will it ever end?

Remember how we weren't going to be any good after Bishop?  Rinse and Repeat lines by Big Red faithful.

What was it you said a few weeks back?  "No Lamark, No Hogan = No chance"?  Does that mean we have a chance now?  Or maybe it was another husker..hell, you're all the same.

What would be so funny is if we switched the verbal commitments for both schools right now. I just wonder how much you'd be gushing over the players Nebraska has verbals from.

    The very best.
It's truly remarkable how bad Cosgrove is.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Prince will steal Gabbert and move Freeman to TE, his true position.

objection your honor...speculation.

I'm one who doesn't get into recruiting rankings.  I'm just as excited about Hogan as I am about Lamark Brown.  If I was a Husker I'd think Hogan was a bum and Lamark = Johny Rogers (mocking your stupid Henry = Rimington stuff).

Nebraska . . . restoring the order five losses at a time.

Nebraska . . . an A&M brainfart away from being 2-5 in their last seven games.

Big Game Billy:  Worst in-game coach in college football.  Most NU fans won't even argue that fact anymore...and I live in NE.

EDIT:  Frank Solich-Did more with less > Callahan-Does less with more

Terrance Thomas has no right to be mentioned along with T Newman.  Thomas couldn't even get academically eligible to defend his track title.

The funny thing about it is NU's best o-lineman by far is Matt Slauson a zero star no offer kid they picked up off the scrap heap late in the process.  Ended up playing a lot as a true frosh and started last year as a true spoh.  Meanwhile the highly touted Picou's, Roarks, Murtha's of the world have done squat.  Yet the Nubbs are still slaves to the star game.  You think Harrison Beck, Leon Jackson, Rodney Picou, Justin Tomerlin, Chris Brooks etc would have taught them a few lessons.  A good portion of the heralded first class you're trumpeting is already gone or is buried in the depth chart.   I wouldn't be holding my breath waiting for that class to put you over the top.

When USC rolls into Lincoln...I"m wondering if the Huskertards are going to be shocked to see what big-time recruits really look like. '95 seems so long ago.

USC won't be up for them like they would be for us (their rival).  God, we own them so hard.

    I'm with Coco.
The positions we have recruited for are mostly nonskill positions. I don't mind 2 star lineman as long as they have the potential to develop. I just want good skill players. I want the 4 stars with the QB's, the RB's, the WR's, and the LB's of the world. Right now, only one and a half of our recruits are those players. Once we get more skill players, I hope we also get more stars.
