We beat T. Boone Picken's  Oklahomo  STate cowpatty's a$$es  with a freshman qb and a shi*hole of an offensive line. Their **** qb that considered KSU  sucked crap and looked clueless.   Freeman schooled him. ALL their money and **** star players got OWNED.

Prince  is recruiting speed players with NO RANKINGS.  FU**ing fine with me.  Rivals rankings can't determine how great athletes develop.

Pfffft.  Prince and company have new ways to judge players unlike Snyder's assistants who got hooked  with rivals crap ratings and therefore stuck with unathletic losers that f___ed up BS last few years.

You stupid f**ks got it all backwards.  It's about coaching, speed and a few skilled players.(qb,wr)

STFU already.

Lol.  Who's this Freeman you speak of?  Surely, not the Army All-American, Parade All-American, 5 star, Top 5 rated Pro-Style quarterback in the entire country according to Rivals, Josh Freeman.

i think what opcat is trying to say is that josh freeman was only 4 stars because he was committed to NU.  if he would have been committed to us the whole time, he would have been a 2 star.  hence, all of our ** recruits in this class are really ****.

I tend to agree.  It's all about getting football players but football players that are very athletic(multi-sport) with speed and mobility.  Those kind of players are the ones that develop the most IMO.  FWIW, I'll bet 5 of the 9 players currently committed will be three stars by February.  Bassett, Dold, Klein, Finau, and one other.
Show me defense.

So you and rivals know more about football than Prince?

We'll see.

Opcat, you're my buddy (at least, at the moment)! I think it's reasonable to question the talent level of our recruits/classes. I think it's reasonable to be in disagreement with some of the coaching decisions. However, I think it's not quite as reasonable (although quite within your 1st ammendment rights, so don't get your panties all in a wad!) to claim that "Prince is stupid", "there goes the program", "He should be getting all 3, 4, & 5 stars who already have offers from at least 5 other BCS programs", etc., etc.

1. If you all are so stinkin' smart, why don't you go get a 1M/yr job coaching??

2. It's true, some coaches stink. However, claiming that of this coach, when he's only coached one season, and got us to a bowl game for the first time in 3 years, with a TRUE FRESHMAN quarterback, and a horrific (inherited) o-line....?? Sorry, the "this coach sucks" jury is still out.

3. Go ahead... why don't you go out and try and recruit all 3-star + talent into Manhattan every year. In case you haven't noticed (and you have), we're not Texas. We're not Florida. We're not USC. We're not Notre Dame. Shoot... we're not even Nebraska (thank goodness!  ;) ). I think it might be a wee bit more difficult than you think. And just for the record... according to Rivals, Prince's recruiting class last year ended up in the 40s. Guess where nearly all of Snyder's were. In the 40s. Have we EVER cracked the top 25?

4. We might debate till the end of time... which comes 1st, the chicken or the egg (the talent or the coaching), but I will say this. If we're ever to build up a tradition like the top-teir programs in this country that basically receive automatic bids to top-25 classes, it's going to take one TON of hard work, patience, and stinkin' good coaching. I know Prince is nailing it on the hard work... we'll see how the others play out. BTW, Snyder had all three. :)

</end rant>

I think Snyder's highest class ever was ranked either ninth or twelfth. I know we've had a couple that were in the top 20.

Check. Also we were 60th in '03.

And we went 4-7 in 2004, 5-6 in 2005, won four conference games total in that period and Snyder retired.

Ultimately, it's about talent.  And the last three classes under Snyder were maginal at best from a ranking perspective.

You guys can continue to spin and deny it all you want, but recruiting rankings on the whole, are a pretty good evauation of overall talent.  Sites like Rivals and Scout have their hits and misses on individual players, but the cummulative team rankings actually prove time and again to be a pretty darn good predictor of future on the field results.

However, I'm not arguing that it wouldn't be nice if we had all 4 and 5-star players. I'd love it, and yes, overall we'd have more talent. But at the same time, that doesn't mean that Prince is doing a terrible job recruiting. If in fact it is true that he and his staff is "outworking" everyone else, it means that they'd probably unearth more than the usual hidden talent. Plus, necessity is the mother of invention. See above.

You tell me -- how do you get top-teir recruits into Manhattan? Do you really think Prince is not going after them? (Note: Kansas State is among the schools recruiting A. Brown the hardest)

Yes, but lucky for us NU has the worst in-game coach in the Big 12.
