Here's the deal though, As long as he's athletic and can get better evey year then you don't know how good he'll eventually be. If he's a guy that national guys don't evaluate or care about then no one know how good he is until he's in the system.  You just have to trust these coaches which you couldn't with Snyders recent assistants who went with crappy juco players.

I trust these coaches more in recruiting. Don't you?

Why? We've seen a track record of exactly one year.

he seems to be the prototypical size lineman that RP wants. 6-6, 260 and 2 stars.  just hope he doesn't end up being 3 inches shorter and 30 lbs. lighter than he is reported to be.

If you can trust his lift weights, he's probably pretty big. 400# squat and 315# bench are pretty good for a guy that isn't a senior in HS yet.

    The very best.
So many 2-stars. Huskers going to make fun.  :'(
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Looks like we beat out Colorado State for another one.

Too bad we don't play in the Mountain West.  We'd own that b!tch.

There are only so many "hidden gems" out there....recruiting services/evaluations are more and more in depth and evaluate a lot more kids now than they did 5 years ago.

In as much as I hate to admit it...if Mangino offered an OL then I'm happy if we get him.  If there is one area he's damn good at evaluating it's the OL.

I submit two examples from the '03 class...

Wow, I didn't know ku was in the running for Joe Thomas and that he actually visited Lawrence. And also before USC offered Kalil, ku was probably in the lead for him.

They had a great chance to have an AMAZING O-Line in 2004-2006....

Yep.  Anthony Collins might be the best OT in the Big 12 right now..lightly recruited DE out of high school..

The Ian Wolfe kid they signed in the 2006 class has a LOT of potential.

He does know the OL.  I question his evals at other positions but he's tough to beat evaluating OL whether KSU fans want to admit it or not.

Prince is too....of course listening to some KSU fans..sigh.

Think what could of been with Kansas's running game last year:

O-Line:
Rodriguez
Collins
Kalil
Thomas
Mayes or Hartley at one Guard spot.

With Cornish running behind that, WOW!!!!

Yeah, but that didn't happen.....

No @#%$.

Yes, many of our fans are talking crap. However, you guys also beat two teams last year that we didn't, and no matter what anyone says I am going to wait until these players start playing in college before I judge.

And Rivals definitely dropped the ball on Collin Klein.

No one dislikes Ron Prince more than me, but he deserves time. It's not like he is backing into these guys. He is evaluating and offering them right away. I'm just going to wait and see. Rivals hates kids in the midwest, and they hate kids from smaller schools. However, there are good players in these places.

2 stars or 5 stars won't change a thing the only way to keep most Husker fans from making fun of you is to win.

Yes, Parker, I also would like your reasons for "disliking" (you are kind, too much so for this "classless" board -- but it's nice) Prince. Let's hear it. I personally am convinced that at worst he's a "Wooly" -- big heart, minimal coaching skills -- however, I think it's quite possible that he's a very good coach, or is devoloping into one.

Also, with regards to Caprioglio's size... I noticed that Scout has him listed at 6' 7", 280, so it would seem somewhat unlikely that his numbers would be inflated noticibly by Rivals -- FWIW.
