Powercat Passport to countdown top-10 road games
MANHATTAN, Kan. - With six road games on tap for the Wildcats in 2007, Powercat Passport will help fans prepare for what promises to be an exciting season by counting down the top-10 road games of the past 25 years with full-length webcasts.

This is pretty sweet, I wonder what games they will pick.  Which would you?

Some on my list would be the at OSU game from 15 or so years ago, the game at Cincinnati from about that same time.  Our first win vs ku in Lawrence from about the same time.  List others -

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

The NU game from about the same time, went down to the last play before they lucked out and stopped us at the one.  Didn't we have a good one in the freeze at CU about then too?

I was there for that one, inaugural season of the Big XII, 1997.

That MU game in 98 was great too.  Corby Jones crying as he walked off the field for the last time (as a loser). LOL.

aTm was in 1996. My 1st season as a KSU fan. I think Canty stripped the ball or something.

In 98, the MU fans chanted "over-rated" after we best them. We chanted back "un-de-feated"

96 makes more sense yes.  I still run into Corby Jones a lot in KC, he's starting a sports agent agency (marketing?) and is a really cool guy.

Oh hell yes I remember it....

My wife at the time made me go with her to visit her mother
in KC....and I started listening to the game and she got mad....

So, I went outside and pretended to get something in my car,
but I was actually listening to my car radio(lol).....

When Lockett caught that pass, I went wild and came
running back in the house yelling, before I realized that
I couldn't tell them why I was yelling, because I wasn't
supposed to be listening to the game in the first place.  :frown:

I made the road trip for that game.  There was a time out before that last play.  All of the skill players were huddled around Snyder on the field next to the sideline.  Miller and Lockett had their own little conversation going, Miller drawing on his hand with his finger, backyard style.  As I remember it, they lined up with three receivers left and Lockett to the right.  Miller rolled out left and then threw all the way back accross the field to Lockett in the front corner of the endzone.  We totally robbed Cincinnati.  Was Robert Tate in that game?  Someone on their team totally tore us up.

I was working at Dean Liquor during that game and had it on the radio, very exciting finish.  We did rob them, yes it was Matt Miller.

as I remember it their field turf was old and completely breaking down, as in little rubber things all over the field that our guys were slipping on (cincy).  Didn't we have a couple of guys get hurt because of it too?  They replaced it the next year.

Wasn't it that we went the length of the field with like 58 seconds left to pull it off?

I guess you could consider the road game at ku in 94 too,
since it was the first win at Lawrence since 1969.

There were some very, very good games that we lost (@UT and @OSU in '03, @CU in '02, @OU in '01 come to mind), but I'm sure they won't be included.  Maybe Nebraska in No matter how sweet the blowouts of ku (64-0, nearly killing Zach Wegner) are, I'd think only close-ish games would be included.  Candidates off the top of my head:
06 -
05 - Marshall
04 - Mizzou
03 - Nebraska (probably #1)
02 -
01 - USC
00 - Mizzou
99 - ISU, OSU, Texas
98 - Mizzou
97 -
96 - A&M
95 - Cincinnati

I can't really recall anything from before I was a student, but I think there was a Thursday night game @ ku when we tore down their goalposts, a few close calls vs. OSU & Mizzou, scaring the bejeezus out of a Nebraska team that was much better than us and Chad May threw for about 900 yards, probably the first conference road win in 8 years or something ridiculous like that in the early 90s.

    It's time to hit it.
wasn't there a game where we blocked an extra point in the closing seconds and ran it back for a one point win? I want to say mid 90s, right before I went to KSU.

Was at the Cincinnati game in Cincinnati.  We were totally deflated when they scored with a minute or so to go.  That was the loudest their crowd was the whole night.  Then it was magic, every K-Stater there knew we were going to drive the field and when Lockett caught that pass, we just erupted.

Got snyder's autograph and escorted from the stadium for doing so prior to the game.  Was totally worth the drive up there.  Long drive back though after not sleeping all weekend.

&@#% that crap.  We sucked ass all night long.  No one in their right mind would have thought we were going to be able to anything on the last drive when we couldn't do anything for the entire game.  After Chad May completed the first few first downs at OSU, on the other hand, you got the feeling that he was just in the zone and could get it done.  The Cincinnati game we completely pulled out of our asses.

aTm was in 1996. My 1st season as a KSU fan. I think Canty stripped the ball or something.

I believe Clyde Johnson stripped it and canty recovered...it was those two though.
I just remember watchin it on tv fsn and clyde johnson after the game yelling "db's make plays, db's make plays"
