    The very best.
when we don't land anyone from the Kansas top 4, during the state's two best years in recent history?

Hawkinson, Zlatnik will probably go to ku.

Harper is a longshot.

Arthur isn't coming.

 :banghead:
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Long ways to go still, but it just makes all that 'sealing up the borders' talk from the '06 signing period appear to be a little wishful thinking.

Don't those business books he reads mention something about under-promising & over-delivering?

As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.

He is to busy ready history books to be thinking about the present.

It tells me that he needs to drink more.

Seriously though, quit being so obtuse.
Think about who Huggy would have signed last year had he hired 4 Brad Underwood's, compared to Prince's crew of 10 Tim McCarty's (last year and this).

Huggins hired who he needed to in order to land big time players.

Prince thinks he can machine this up from the ground.
Prince should have 10 mega-Dalonte's & Martin's on his staff.
LOL @ Prince.
 :flush:

I'm really tired of hearing about kansas football recruits being from ku families (i.e. basketball fans).  You'd think we would have garnered more goodwill amongst the state in terms of being a premier school for football in the state, but the last two years of Bill apparently destroyed that.

Honestly though, off the top of my head, I can only think of a few kids that, during Snyder's tenure "got a way" for one reason or another: Tuman, Deangelo Evans, Kameron Wimbley.  Most recently I guess you could throw Nick Reid, Mike Rivera, and Xzavie Jackson in that category as well.  Otherwise, if the kid was from kansas and was good (or at least ended up being good) he went to KSU.

Great part was that Snyder owned Missouri during pretty much his whole tenure, and Oklahoma for a good part of it.  Incredible.

 :banghead:

It says more about Bill Snyder more than anything.

These kids should have been brainwashed by now. They grew up in the hey day
of KSU and honestly, should have dreamed of wearing the purple and white on Saturday's.

But b/c Coach Snyder handled the media the way he did and the marketing of the
program was in the stone ages  , I feel the kids got mixed messages about Coach Snyder and KSU. They got -- KSU goes to bowl games b/c they don't play anyone in the non-conference. KSU is Juco U.   Bill Snyder is a task master that while he wins, he's too demanding of his assistant coaches, kids don't
have fun playing with him etc.

The way the "glory years" were marketed and delivered to the generation of kids that were living in it was a giant swing and a miss. They had 11
straight years of bowl games. An 11 year foundation in which to cement KSU as "the place to be if you're a Kansas kid and want to
play division I football.

These kids that Prince is missing on -- the message or "want to" should have been bred into them long before this.
The marketing of the program is key -- especially when you have things rolling. I'm "hopeful" that our marketing department has their gears in full motion with this class that just came in, b/c this is a chance to really  capitalize  for the now and the tomorrow.

I'm convinced that if Prince gets things going the way he envisions, that  he'll be able to walk into any house in this state and handpick the kids that he wants to wear the purple and white.

Snyder could have done that , but didn't quite grasp....or maybe he didn't want to deal with it.......the game that has to be played for that to work.

Get what done?  Maybe we should give Prince more than just one year before you say he can't recruit?

Why should we assume he can?  He hasn't ever been a head coach before, and the only recruiting "win" he has is getting Josh Freeman and his dad to like him.  It remains to be seen whether Freeman can live up to his stars.  Josh Moore was a nice find, but every single team in the Big 12 gets a nice surprise like that - every year.  Hell, Terry Allen has proved more than Ron.

It's been one year....fine, I'll wait to "judge" him.   But he hasn't proven @#%$ to me yet.

    The "other" KSU
I am with you all regarding sealing up the borders, but really - our recruiting class is still heads and shoulders better than Gay U. Ask yourself this, my freinds in Wildcat nation - who would you want more, our starting QB or Gay U's? I love getting the crop from out of a small town (Cimmaron, KS) - but as long as we still have better recruits, I dont care who wins the might battle of KS. The last great player to be drafted into the NFL from KS was Terrance Newman, a two star recruit from Salina, KS who WE took from Gay U. I believe that Fat ManGino's days are numbered at Gay U anyway. Then, when they have to pay him all of that salary, the AD will be the next to go, the dominos will tumble.

But to land a guy like Brown would be immense.  It would solidify us as an actual viable threat in the big12.  I think Mangino has a couple more years.

Nebraska doesn't have anyone like Arthur Brown in their class. Don't kid yourself.

Notice I said "probably". It's safe to say that the kid is an idiot for choosing ku over Georgia Tech.
