You can't be racist and like basketball.
Sincerely,
Art Alvarez

Alvarez has "sent" kids to Arizona, Florida, Miami, FIU, Duquesne, Northeastern, George Mason, etc., etc., etc.  He may give us an "in", but he doesn't decide where kids go.  It just helps a ton to not have to "cold call" an AAU coach, and helps even more when you're close to them.

Which is exactly the point with Butler.  He's the main contact/in for what will probably be all the elite kids (if Butler has his way).   Butler's "beef" is BS when you actually look at the facts.  In reality he's just pissed because he never got a scholarship from a KS school because he sucked,  because Rashaad Jackson didn't pan out, and because we haven't offerred "his" kids (not necessarily KS kids).  But hey, that's recruiting.

No, that's not the point with Butler.  Does Alvarez have any "beef" with any programs and keeps his kids from going there?  There really isn't any evidence of that, as they have gone pretty much everywhere.  You're really over-analyzing what Butler's saying and worrying waaaaaay too much.

Seriously folks, unwad the panties.

I'm actually taking what Butler is saying/claiming and comparing that to the facts and finding that he's full of BS.  We have an "in" with Art, maybe more so than anyone else and if we get KSU basketball off the ground, that "in" will be even more valuable.  The same goes for Butler.  He appears to want to be the gate keeper for these kids.  Not having an "in" with him and not being in his good graces can't help our chances, can it?  Look at what happened with KSU's relationships with the JUCOS in KS.

If Prince speaks with him regularly, which it appears he does, we're pretty much already in.

Are we really worse off than we would be without Butler around?  I consider our chances with the Browns much better than our chances with Wimbley.  Butler might not be doing a ton to help, but I don't think he's hurting much.

Butler says KSU takes Texas kids over Kansas kids, then gives Frank Delarue as an example, when Delarue was beat out by 3 other Kansas kids.

Jeffrey Martin calls that "logic" and "legitimate."

Hence the wadfest.

Leon Patton and James Johnson have turned out to be a good Texas gamble. Both Texas players if I am correct.
"You guys want answers that are conversations between John and I. I ain't worried about it. I'm living the dream.... When I start worrying about a contract, I'd be cheating the kids and not doing my job." - Frank Martin

Johnson wasn't much of a gamble. He was a four star. Leon Patton was a three star.. I don't know how much of a gamble that makes him..?

I find it hard to believe that the Brown Bros would be angry that some random Kansas product had to walk on.  And if they are, I find it impossible to believe they would be upset at that without having Butler yell in their ears that they should be upset.  Whether Butler is making a decision for them or not, I don't know.  He is, however, playing a huge role in their decision.  Though I think for someone yelling in-state pride it is a bit hypocritical to lead them away.

I don't believe the brown brothers are that upset about Frank not getting a scholly... I see it as a ploy of Butlers to try to get KSU to offer the walk-on kid a scholly.

Which is what Brown Butler is most interested in... His kids getting scholly's to D1 schools.

Edited: to change Brown to Butler

I've decided that, through research and thought, Butler is pure and is not a negative.

This is pretty rediculous.  The only thing I questioned from the Butler interview was saying the Deluare (sp) kid was better than backs we have already signed and basing that on comparing their rivals highlights.
