NU is nowhere near being back on top.  In fact, I bet they lose in Columbia this year.  They will lose to Texas at Texas and they will lose to KSU and/or A&M in Lincoln.  Of course, they will get thumped by USC as well.  In short, they won't win 10 games this year. 8-4 or 7-5 is likely.  6-6 is possible when they travel to Stillwater. (Which was ASU's record in 2005)  Will Cally be fired?

MU won't beat us but the corn is going down.  The only reason they beat MU lasat year is that Pinkel decided the ground game was their key to winning. I don't think he'll be that dumb this year.  NU is weaker on both sides of the ball.  8 wins will be as good as it gets and that will take some luck.  In short they will battle MU for 2nd place in the north and come up short.  Go Cats! :ksu:

    The very best.
Very much so.

It would help if these socks knew a shred about ksu basketball, make them look more legit.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Yes, a good tip for Husker socks would be to start a "BEAZLEY ROX!" thread or two before starting their lame football thingys.

Osborne went 9-3-1 in his fourth season, and he inherited a much better situation.

If Callahan went 7-5 this year he would feel the heat NEXT year, but most of our fans already think it could be 3 or four losses this season. Our schedule is pretty brutal.

Despite what all of you think, Callahan is actually well-liked. It's the athletic director a lot of our fans hate. The billmustgo sites sprang up before Callahan even coached a game, and they are the misdirected anger of fans who hate the AD.

I really like Callahan, and even some of the biggest Pederson (AD) bashers out there want Callahan to get a short extension this year. Despite what you guys say, Callahan is actually a really good coach, and the good he is doing far out-weighs the few mistakes he has made.

I think we'll go 8-4 or 9-3. 7-5 would suck, but that's life. I'd rather give him a couple more years after that than go through another coaching change.

S. Parker...you are the ONLY nebraska poster that I actually enjoy reading posts from.  Thank you for actually being objective when posting about college football.

Most people don't realize this, but a lot of our fans were calling for Devaney to be fired in 1968 at the end of his second 6-4 season in a row, and Osborne almost went to Colorado in 1978 because so many of our fans were calling for his dismissal (they were mad that Osborne lost to Oklahoma each of his first five years).

All I have to say is thank god our fans haven't gotten their way so far.

and now these same fans are after pedey and callahan.  not sure what it is about some NU fans.  I say some because they are the minority, they are the most vocal but make no mistake, they are in the minority.

It's all my fault the Corn got rid of Frankie.

Overcome by a fit of joyous overexuberance in 2003, I stood behind Stevie P. in Memorial Stadium and pleaded and begged that he never fire Frank.  I thought he was just ignoring me until I noticed that his neck started turning red, the same color as his sportcoat, and eventually ever so slowly crept right on up his face.  Man I thought the guy was going to burst.  I do think the repetitive and beautiful strains of Wildcat Victory didn't help his countenance much either.....that's one good thing about 'ol Memorial you're sure close to the action, ya never know what opportunities might avail themselves.
