Lets try this again.....

You say you are betting 100 dollars on the Reds.  Are you betting the Reds to cover the spread or to win outright.  You have to be clear.

Tonight, I've got:
Quote
FLORIDA AT CHICAGO N: OVER 9.5 (EVEN)  20 for 20
SAN DIEGO: D WELLS (+120)  10 for 12

It's over 80 degrees at Wrigley tonight, with decent wind out to left.  Neither Marquis or Willis are what you would call ground-ball specialists, Marquis' ERA vs. the Marlins is over 6, and the bullpens have been suspect.

FLORIDA AT CHICAGO N: UNDER 10.0 (-105)

I just don't see 11 runs against Mitre (1.89 ERA, 3 HR) and Lilly (3.20, 4) tonight, even though Lilly did get a little roughed up in LA last week.  30 for 28.57.

Wow, the Pistons are favored by 5.5 tonight, with a Cavs upset paying +210.  I guess nobody was watching the first two games.

Scratch that, line just moved to +240.  Did LeBron announce he's taking the night off, or what?

So, my site has a feature they call Live Betting.  It's basically a stock market for degenerates.  You buy and sell 'shares' of one outcome or another, such as "Cleveland +5.5," and at the end of the game, each 'share' is worth either 100 or 0.  You can buy and sell during any clock stoppage.  Prices fluctuate wildly whenever a team goes on a run, and as the endgame comes into focus, your shares can plummet or soar with each possession.  Tremendously addictive feature, and tremendously nerve-wracking when your shares go from 95 to 75 because of overtime, and then to 50 because the wrong team took the lead.

Week: +104.27
Total: +29.27

I think I'll go ahead and wrap this up, since Dr. Stunner has apparently proven us all wrong already and gone home, I guess.  As for me, I had fun trying to justify some awful bets, and found that I should probably stick to basketball.  I managed to miss seven straight picks last weekend, which, under his system, would have had me needing around 1200 to break even on the eighth bet.  It'll take a couple more Cavs wins before I have that kind of cushion to play with. ;)

I just got bored with it.  If I picked random games, I know I'd eventually &@#% up enough to lose large amounts of money.  However, if I did research like crazy, and could pick the favorite of one game per day, I'd probably succeed.

Or you could still lose seven straight picks over the course of a weekend.  ;)  It's a sport where even the best teams each year still manage to lose over a third of their games, after all.  You can't count on much going the way you think it should.
