Betting $440 on Oakland.
And the line is? You keep forgetting the most important part.
Go to wsex.com, click Baseball, then Game Lines, and you'll get today's list of lines, with links. Money Line is for an outright win, so click Oakland's number in that column (it's -103 right now). You'll be given a dropdown box at the top of the window with typical bet/payout options, as well as a link to play around with random amounts that aren't in the list. Messing around with those controls might be more helpful in explaining how things really work than any more of my rambling.
As for me, I'm going to mess with pufizzle's head and pick (and therefore jinx) the Braves. But I also like El Duque and the Mets facing Sergio Mitre. So here comes some fancy 2x2 parlay action. What the hell, it's Friday.
Money Lines:
NEW YORK N: O HERNANDEZ (-133)
ATLANTA: T HUDSON (-160)
BOTH: +184.68 (20 to net 36.94)
Run Lines:
NEW YORK N: O HERNANDEZ -1.5 (+120)
ATLANTA: T HUDSON -1.5 (+125)
BOTH: +395 (10 to net 39.50)
So, if both win, I'm up about 27, and if both win by two, I net 76.44. If either lose, I'm down 30. Of course, whenever I take the time to set up a wager like this, both teams usually get blown out.
