he threw less than 10 times per game on a run oriented team.  Loveland lost 3 times in regulars season..2 of 3 came when he was out w/ a broken foot and according to the papers the 3rd came when he was playing but still not healthy.

Completed roughly 60% of his passes.

Loveland was only 15th seed entering 4A playoffs but advanced all the way to the title game knocking off one favorite that was undefeated in the semi-final.

coach said he's the best passer the program's had.

scouts inc. whom the huskers brag are the real evaluators in the recruiting world...well they like him.  They do have him rated HIGHER than Texas Tech's QB commit, Seth Doege.

I don't have the insider subscription but here is the teaser on Klein...

Quote
Evaluation: Klein has prototypical size and a powerful arm. What you don't expect is how athletic he is and while he is a pocket passer, if he gets on the move,...

I would say for a kid who throws less than 10X per game that is not too bad of a start eh?  And it looks as though he's a pretty decent basketball player for Loveland as well.

and I'm spent.

keep spinning?

ranked higher than Texas Tech's QB commit per NU bible scouts inc.  Or is scouts, inc no longer worth a damn as of this commit and this commit only?  That would be the spin job.

Sucks to have a QB who guides his team to the state title game.  Sucks.

ranked same as Arkansas' QB commit.

ranked higher than UTEP's QB commit whom they really liked at rivals elite QB camp in Fort Worth.  But UTEP's coach Mike Prince, we know he and Leach have no idea what they are doing.

This kid may or may not turn out to be worth a damn but not that many QB's out there have a lot of offers at this point if you go through the database and our kid threw it less than 10X a game.

I'm really excited about Patrick Witt on our team, and he kind of reminds me of the guy you are picking up. He was kind of hidden on a run-oriented team, but he has good size and a great arm.

Sounds like a good pick-up.

Does this mean Chris Harper will be a wr for KSU if he commits? Don't you guys have two quarterbacks for this class (Kassanoid and Klein)?

(I know I misspelled Kassanoid, but I am too lazy to go look it up right now.)

Harper will get his shot if he wants it.  But in the long run(and that is probably very short) he'll be a playmaker somewhere other than QB.  I think he knows that already.

That's not to say we won't do a shotgun formation and snap it to him ala Darren McFadden or Tim Tebow(Tebow just ran the ball out of shotgun this year).

We're in on two other quarterbacks that are supposed to be really good. Andrew Luck and a kid named Blackman from the West Coast. I've heard that Kassanavoid might come to K-State for baseball. I think our coaches will let Harper try QB and then move him to receiver if QB doesn't work out. I have absolutely no idea about Kline.

From what I have read, it sounds like interest in Harper is really picking up, and he could be a monster recruit if he plays well this season. He is an amazing athlete. I know Nebraska just offered him, but from the interview with him I got the impression that he is KSU's to lose.

I'll go look up Blackman. I haven't heard of him, mostly because all our recruiting became so fixated on Gabbert for awhile.

As a fan, I've always preferred mobile quarterbacks like Vince Young, Michael Bishop, Tommie Frazier, Michael Vick, etc. I'm not a college coach obviously, but it just seems so demoralizing to the other team to have everything covered well and then have the qb break a huge run.

We are done at qb, but I think Harper could make one helluva college qb. His senior season will definitely be worth watching.

My main worry is tight end. We have no tight end talent really.

We got in on a tight end from Oklahoma early on named Cooper Bassett and interest is really started to pick up with him but he says he is still solid with KSU.

Harper says that it is getting harder to keep us at the top of his list with guys like Notre Dame calling his number but he says that we've been doing everything right. I think we will still end up with a commitment from him eventually..

regardless, it was a long shot to get blackman away from the Pac 10.  If his numbers are legit he seems to be a very good athlete.  I wouldn't rule out Kassavanoid playing baseball.  James Franklin wil take all the qb's he can get.  he once said in an interview that his goal was always to get at least 2 in each class.

Yes, but we have two very underwhelming QBs. Granted, we have no idea about Kline but I really would have liked to have Luck or Blackman (which is still a possibility). I just hope that we are addressing the areas that we need. We aren't offering many offensive or defensive linemen which is worrying me. I just don't see Kline or Kassanavoid replacing Josh..

We're in on quite a few Juco's and juco recruiting is always last, we really need rb's wr's and te's on offense.

We're in on several rb's and wr's. We have a great te commitment in Bassett. You are right, I haven't checked out Juco offers.

One thing that slips by most on here with regards to recruiting is that whether you're a KSU fan or an NU fan or a fan of any other school in the North-we're all in this thing together. This division needs to pick up the slack and bring in as many exciting, talented playmakers as possible. It will do nobody any good to have one team with a plethora of talent and the other five picking up scraps. I hope the Klein kid is good and he'll make a good QB down the road.
