As much as we go round and round w/ husker fans or ku fans none of the losses to either of those programs stung nearly as bad as the one in the link posted, '98 aTm, or '00 OU.

I was there.

It was a great game despite the fact we had no business losing that game.

Barnett had our #.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Living in Colorado, this game and the 01 game stung the worse for me and has made CU a legitimate rival in my eyes.  One of our best teams (02) lost out on a possible conference championship by the Muffs, and 01, 04, and 05 were all heartbreakers for myself.  I was really glad to see us win here last year.

F-ing ski bunny, Jeremy Bloom.  He and Hodge drove me to second half drinking at the Harvest House.

I knew '02 CU was not going to be good when K-State fans were talking smack on Pearl Street the night before the game using USC comparitive scoring to justify that the Cats were going to ride herd on the Buffs...  :blindfold:

CU fans told me in '02 and '04 that Barnett HATED K-State and Snyder and would pull every motivational tactic imaginable on his team the week leading up to a K-State game.  He was quite the schitzo coach.

Who didn't know we were going to run the option?  Not that it was necessarily a "bad call", but it was an obvious call.

Oh Christ. You're the fan that used to bitch when we'd audible to option.

No.  I'm not.  The option puts the ball into the hands of our 2 best players...that's not a bad thing.  But everyone knew that play was coming.  It wouldn't have matter if our FB didn't get wiped out and our receiver kept his block for a second longer.

That was one heck of a play.  No way I thought he'd stop Sproles.

In contrast, IIRC, Barney threw a TE throwback screen, on a big 3rd down (might have been 4th down) on a big drive to get the go ahead score.  I believe we missed like 2 tackles on that play.

CU fans hate/resent KSU for the most part, and it was really obvious to me in those 01-04 years that Barnett hated Snyder and the KSU program.  Radio and Papers used to always take shots on KSU out here; ease of getting in to KSU as opposed to CU, Agr. School, Manhattan, you know the typical crap everyone says.  Barnett used to put out a fake injury report mocking Snyder's methods.  Barnett was a dirtbag and I have no problems whatsoever that the Muffs are struggling right now, couldn't have happened to a more scumbag fan base.  That said, he is recruiting pretty well right now and in 2-3 years CU will be in the conversation again, Hawkins will be a success here.

I remember all too well his childlike shennanigans. How about when he told his team to take the 5 yard penalty, and take out our punt returner? (Was it Lockett or Allen?) I will never feel sorry for that scumbag. Hope he sits in NM or Arizona, or wherever he is for a long, long time.  :forked:

I remember when Snyder told Ell to take a knee. He didn't, we scored again and Barnett went all ape Sh*t on Snyder in the middle of the field and Barnett called Snyder an ahole to his face.  Then in the press conference, Barnett said that he thought that Snyder had a listening device or cameras in the visitors locker rooms and he didn't trust Snyder....CU did themselves a favor when they fired him...what a d*ck

CU is just funny . . . Boulder a city of neo-liberals and neo-conservatives, racial issues, questionable judicial practices, a university president and  AD who had to resign because of the actions of a football coach who was allowed to stay on . . . CU football on probation two coaches in a row, a worshipped former head coach who is head of a highly conservative religious organization who had a daughter who did the entire team and had children out of wedlock, and was a guy who recruited gang members out of LA . . . an athletic department $8 million dollars in the red last fiscal year, a controversial former black basketball coach.

Yet they constantly pointed fingers at KSU.

I thought that was Nebraska that ell ran a play at the last moment when he was told to take a knee...  then their d-cordinator ran out on the field yelling...

I do remember the CU thing with them accusing us of using camera's and listening devices on the sidelines and in the locker rooms to help with 2nd half adjustments... that was pretty funny.

That was pretty much every game during the 2002/2003 seasons that we won. Everyone was whining that we were running it up.

Sigh...those were the days.

    Overkill. It works.
That '98 aTm game was a great game that we NEVER should have lost.  That was one HELL of a long drive home from St. Louis--cold & snowy, no less.  I swung through Manhattan on the way back home & it was a ghost town.

Yes, it was Nebraska. And then PELINI called Bill Snyder a F(*&ing A$$HOLE after the game, when it was time to shake hands. The next year, the dickhead went down to OU.

Let me first say that this is my very first post on ksufans, with that said, when did CU become a grudge game? I had no idea. As for the aTm game i have my doubts that stoops and mangina judt didnt throw that game since they were on their way to OU. (this is my impression of a ku fan  :kugayfight:  :ku: )
