And we have a winnable series at Colorado this weekend so do I hear 6 or 7 out of last 8? If we can do that we can make up for that dreadful 7 out of 8 game losing streak we just had.

I about fell over when while they were showing the highlights of last night's game on SportsCenter they actually mentioned that fact. Of course they did start the highlight off by mentioning that we have the worst record in the majors.

You know.....If you look at the standings right now we're only 11 games out in the division and 5 games behind Minnesota to get out of the cellar. Lets say we get 5 or 6 wins on this upcoming 9 game home stand. Then we have a road trip that consists of Tampa Bay and Cleveland (again) before we come home to play underachieving Philadelphia, St. Louis and Florida teams before we go to St. Louis in the month of June. Could we possibly make a little bit of a run going into late June?

Anyone who follows the MLB knows that any team that is underachieving when about to play the Royals, suddenly begins a hot streak I wouldn't be looking too far ahead.  There isn't a chance to contend this year an outside shot for next year, but likely not until 2009.  Even then these are the Royals, and all I ask for is 75 wins a year if they can pull that off, then I am content.

Well recently yes, but two seasons ago '08 was gonna be "the year" they contend for a pennant, the year before that it was '07.  Until they do it I won't expect much, play around .500 ball, and play some meaningful games after the break.

They were also being run into the ground by an administration that didn't have a clue what they were doing. They do now!
