Favorite play from last year

What was your favorite play from last year?

Mine was a play that was actually from the Colorado game, in the second half.  I can't honestly remember exactly how the play started.  I think it was a pass or pitch to a wideout who reversed (Figurs??) all the way to the other side of the field.  He lined up on the right side, and ran all the way to the left side, and then all the way for a touchdown on the left side.  Why is that my favorite play?  The blockers.  I think I saw a quarterback (Freeman, who's an EXCELLENT blocker btw for a quarterback), a wideout(can't remember who, Jordy?), a tight end (also can't remember who,) and a running back(Probably Johnson.)

I really loved that play because people who are used to having the ball and being playmakers were also willing to run all the way downfield and block the entire way, not being afraid to 'get dirty' and do a little of the hard work/blocking.


Honorable mention:
Halfback pass from Leon Patton to Ced?? in Texas game.  I love trick plays, especially that one because it was like a kick in the nuts to Texas because we had JUST executed a trick play against them on the previous play.

Least favorite play: Bootleg left, It was used often starting about the Colorado game, and after opponents were expecting it, it was pretty much worthless and actually hurt us a lot in the ku and Rutgers games.

The OSU and Texas games are just full of good plays. The one that Phreak described was really cool because Freeman blocked a guy all the way into the endzone and just ran him over.

I agree though, that was a badass play and perfect timing with the reverse.  Not many times do you see a QB running defensive players over while blocking.

it's not as sexy, but that first td pass from freeman to figurs against texas.  at that point ut had just marched down the field and got a phantom td on a fourth down play.  didn't know for sure that mccoy was out. 

coming right back with that td was just draw dropping and inspiring.

Screen pass to Jordy to end the Texas game.  Eveyone around me started pissing when they saw Freeman throwing and then Jordy caught it and the clock kept going.  That was less flashy than the Halfback pass, but definately BOLD and DARING.

From where I was sitting....it didn't look like Jordy got the first down but, he did and it saved the game.

The real reason it was my favorite play is because Freeman pushed some poor Colorado safety all the way through the endzone.  It's not often a quarterback physically demolishes a defender.  And it's not often a quarterback is blocking either.

That play was Freeman at his best.  A good play action fake and an absolute strike to Figurs on a deep post over the middle.  That was an NFL throw and got me back on the Freeman 4 Heisman OMG!!1 bandwagon.  I want to be on that sucker.  It's fun on there.
