Our special teams unit saved our butts in some games last year. With Wallerstedt as the new special teams coordinator, will we have the same luck that we had with Tibesar last year? Just wondering what your thoughts were....

Its a huge focus for Prince.  If we get the right guys to step up, it should be pretty close.  I'd like to see us maintain our return threat, but get better at blocking FG attempts/punts.  It will be interesting to see how moving the KO back will effect the KO return/cover game for us and for all of college football.  Should definately create a field position advantage for the offense.

Wally will do fine as ST coach. He is one of the most intense people I have ever met. He is just as detail oriented as Tibs is so he should do fine.

A lot of the recruits really like him.

the only position that we might see a difference is in the kicking game.  I think it will be better this year - everything else will be about the same.

Thanks just my .02 worth

I don't see how our kicking game won't take a hit...we lost Snodgrass who, I believe, attempted every field goal last year and nearly every extra point, we lost our long snapper, and I thought that Dylan was our holder (although maybe Watts did some as well).  Also, Snodgrass had a better average on kick offs than Parker and more touchbacks.

listening to prince talk about st is a hoot.  last week he was rambling about how you can score on any st play, and i was kind of laughing thinking about how you could score when you're kicking the ball off deep to the other team.

then prince reminded me that we did exactly that against illinois state in his first game, and it was the game winning score.

Watts was our holder.

Dylan was listed on the depth chart as the holder.  And I thought he was the holder even during Snyder's tenure.
