I am currently reading Mark Jannsen's book The Said It Couldn't Be Edited, about Bill Snyder and the rise of Kansas State Football.  For those of you who haven't read it, it is a great read; very insightful about our beloved program, but IMO it was written for/by a 3rd grader.  Insert joke by Husker fan here.

This book has gotten me to thinking though; who is facing more scrutiny by the legendary Snyder, Ron Prince or James Franklin?  My point being, sure Prince is the new man in charge of what Snyder created at KSU, but prior to that Snyder was an innovative and unstoppable offensive coordinator for many years.  I know Snyder would never criticize or say anything of such, but he is still human and invested a great amount of himself in KSU and Manhattan to not have personal opinions and thoughts about what is going on inside the Bill on Saturdays.

I am more interested in what is going on between the white lines, not so much how the program is being handled differently.  I wonder what Coach Snyder thinks of the new offense and how these coaches attack other defenses.

I'm not really criticizing the new regime, they got us back to a bowl.  No major complaints from me.  I wonder what Snyder thinks from an offensive perspective of James Franklin's offensive ideas, the way they manage a game.  Just a question.

Snyder was an innovater which is what he had to be when rebuilding the worst team ever.  There aren't too many of those around but guys that are bright enough and capable of pulling it off are usually successful.

hank stram
Al Saunders
Mike Martz
Urban Meyer
Bellichek(sp?)
etc
etc

i havne't seen anything innovative from prince or franklin which is not a knock on them.  Obviously the vast majority of success comes from people that are not innovative.  just saying, comparing them to him is kinda apples and oranges.
