    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

    This ZERO is my Hero
If we can just get a couple of those guys we're in on, then I can live with that.  As much I wish we would get a top 10 guy every year, just not gonna happen.  But I like what I saw.

I would be perfectly content with two top 100 players a year.

Especially if Kadji was one of those players next year.  He would be a very good center for us.

Like I said in another post, 2-3 Top 100 guys with 1 being Top 50 would be great for next year.  Then maybe add a Top 25 JUCO player and a Pullen/Samuels type.  I think if you can aim to get a "starting 5" of Top 100 players every 2 years (5 Top 100 players, with a goal of hitting needs for all positions) then you can maintain a program pretty well.  In that mix, 1 to 2 Top 50s, then every 5 or so years if you can bring in a Top 10 (Beasley/Walker type) you are in great shape.  Supplement with some JUCO Top 25s and maybe 100-200 or so ranked players that you can develop.  That's got to be the model, and though you're going to get out of wack at times (maybe a JUCO-heavy class every now and then), you've got to stay with it.  Do that and you build a Top 25 program that competes for the top 4 in the league every year if you can coach at all.

that was the quinn snyder formula.

getting a top 25 guy at least every other year is going to be key.

ohio state is amazing.

i think you are overvaluing jucos, fan.  most years there aren't 25 jucos that can make an impact at high majors.  i would restrict it to more like top 10 or so if you are looking for hs top 50-150 level talent.  maybe the new prep rules will direct more talent back to jucos.
"these are no longer “games” in the commonly accepted sense of the term. these are free throw shooting contests leavened by the occasional sprint to the other end of the floor."

The magic formula, at least it was for Cincinnati during their 13 year NCAA run, was to get one 4 or 5 star (50 and above rank), and 2 three star recruits (about 50-125 rank) every year, and if you can do this every year you end up with a deep and experienced team in four years.  Add an occasional highly rated JUCO, and sometimes a project, to that mix and you get a solid team year in and year out!  That is what I think Martin & Co are striving for...

I'd say top 20 to 25 is accurate.  That would be 4 per BCS conference.  I'm sure you could come up with 4 impact JUCO transfers that come in to the big 12 every year.
