If we don't land him our football program will revert to worse than the pre-Sydner era.

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

It looks like Brown and Harper are the clear top 2 players (athletes) in the state next year.  No doubt we need to get at least 1 of those 2.  After that, IMO KSU should be landing 5-7 of the Top 10 players (if they are D1 caliber) every year.  We need to own this state in recruiting.  Unfortunately, its look like ku has an "in" on several of the top players in the state, and we may be in danger of losing both Brown and Harper to big time out of state programs.

I don't think we are having any instate problems. Harper is a lock. Dold committed and Reed favors us. We are miles ahead of ku when it comes to Arthur Brown and if he goes instate he will go with us. The only kids that we aren't doing well with that we show interest in are Hawkinson and Zlatnik and both grew up ku fans. Hawkinson's whole family graduated from ku and Zlatnik's parents are big ku fans. I don't think there are more than seven kids instate that are worth offers right now..

Harper is no lock for KSU. If he was, Nebraska wouldn't have wasted time offering him.

I hope so, but I've followed recruiting enough to know its not how you start, its how you finish.

I know you Nubbies think the world of your football program and that you would never offer a kid that was going to K-State but that isn't the case. Cooper Bassett has already committed to us and other schools are still offering him. There is a 95% chance that Harper goes to KSU. Just ask our own J-Mart.

Prince would have to really screw this one up for Chris to not commit to K-State.

There'll be no meltdown from those of us who know the program is going to hell in a handbasket no matter who we land.   :blank: :blindfold:

just like NU offering the Kalil kid from Anaheim who has an offer from USC, committed to USC, and entire family goes to USC?

Nebraska doesn't waste time.  :blahblah:

We're not getting either Brown brother.  Harper is our best shot.  I think it's important to get Harper (and Brown, but again we won't) because they appear to be talented kids; the fact that they are in state is an added bonus to our ability to get them, not a deciding factor on how important they are to us.

    The very best.
You don't know that about the Browns.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

No chance Brown's going to ku and Harper is as close to a lock as you can get before you call it a lock.

Zlatnik isn't worth a d1 scholarship (for football) so its a good thing that we aren't recruiting him like other schools are. We learned our lesson with Roepke and Drinkgern. Dold is a stretch for a D1 scholarship. I've seen him play 3-4 times and each time he's been extremely impressive but you just don't know how much you can judge that off of. I don't know a lot about Hawkinson, and I don't think that Pegram is going to be any different than Roepke/Drinkgern.

No, I don't.  But the likelihood of the Browns (even one of them) signing KSU has got to be less than 10%.  If it does happen (either one, but especially A. Brown), it would be bigger than getting Freeman, imo.

I would be willing to bet that his chances of going to either KSU or OU is 45-45 with the rest being everyone else. He might have "interest" in other schools, but you've gotta think its 0U-KSU. That area is a lot closer to Norman than say, Kansas City... Otherwise would have a better chance.

We have a much better than 10 percent chance though, to land both of them.

Crabby seems to like the Hawkinson kid and talks about him being the second best in Kansas but I don't know how you can put him in front of Harper.   When it's all said and done and Harper has 20 offers and Hawkinson has 5 I don't think they'll have much choice but putting Harper in front of him.  Hawkinson is a solid regional 3 star type of kid but Harper is a national level prospect.  If he doesn't get 4 stars it will be the screw job of the year by rivals especially when you consider Ryan Murphey got 4 stars last year.

Harper has already been put in front of Hawkinson. Rivals released their Kansas Top Ten today.

As important as your life.
