Wooly could not get 2 3 stars to commit in the last month of recruitment.
not in his last 2 years. before that they did pretty well from around pasco through peete. and unfortunately they had to do a ton of spring recruiting.
Since its being discussed, you look at Wooly's classes from 01 through 04 and there is no reason he shouldn't have won more games. 5-6 players that were ~Top 50 JUCOs (DeJesus, Pasco, Spurlock, Richards, Massey, Williams), 3 Top 100 HS players (Hayden, Martin, Willingham), and 3 borderline Top 100 or so HS players (Harris, Stewart, Allen). Probably not enough to win the league title, but plenty to compete for the 3rd to 5th spot in the league during that time period. Too much attrition and too little getting those guys to go above and beyond and win those close games.
