I'm new to the site.  I've been reading for a while.  I have seen that you guys really like Chris Harper.  I thought you should know that he is a hell of an athlete but has no work ethic at all.  He also will not end up being a QB in college.  I will be thrilled if we get him,  but not for QB.

Well since you are just a Big 12 fan, does "we" mean all Big 12 teams?  If so, get ready to be thrilled!!

so i just realized something the other day. i went to a football camp at emporia state last summer and it was a semi-contact camp (just shoulder pads and helmets). i went in on defense at safety and we were scrimmaging, get this, wichita northwest. the rules were that you couldn't tackle the legs, you had to wrap them up and stop them. well...im not that big and im a really good tackler, when i can tackle the legs.... so i see the quarterback cut up on the option and i attempt to "wrap up". i pretty much bounce off him and am in excrutiating pain. i jammed my arm on this huge quarterback and fractured my arm. put me out for a month.  as i waited for the trainer, i overheard someone saying that kid was my age and already was getting interest from kstate. it wasn't until about a week ago that i put together the pieces....this "kid" was chris harper.  if this incredible athlete makes it to manhattan and becomes something great, i can always say that f***er broke my arm. :dancin:

How's KSU looking?

And why work out?  He's got God-given talent.

I'd say pretty good shape.  Haven't talked about it much.  I agree with you on the God given talent.  He is a FREAKISH athlete.  He just needs to get himself in line and start working his butt off and he will be awesome in college.

Dude, there is a reason he's a "freakish" athlete. Work ethic.

hth.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Actually, I'll take it from some1 who knows him. Some people have natural abilities w/o putting in much effort. Should be obvious enough. The question is, will he comply to Prince's demands, or drop out!

(BTW, why do you say he won't play QB in College? I'm inclined to believe, you, but what's the reasoning?)

Athleticism can only be worked for to a certian degree.  By your reasoning anyone with work ethic can be as Athletic as they want.

I just don't think he is good enough at quarterback to play in college.  He is a good HS QB, but beyond that I am not so sure.  I think his future is at WR.  Since he is so big and thick he will be hard for defenses to match up to.

What I am saying is that if the guy worked his butt off he has the potential to be one of the top recruits in the country.  His God given talent has gotten him pretty far but to do well in college and make it to the pro's you have to be a gym rat.

Oh yeah, I'm sure his work ethic sucks. I'm sure those things just grow while he's sitting on the couch.
