Why are you guys "testing" Callahan?

Purify will receive a just punishment and deserves one--that's not in question. What bothers me is that I am sensing judgment from many of you on our program that is poorly founded. Snyder had a horrible record of arrests with players, and he wasn't exactly an angel at punishing them either (proof is available upon request). What about Osborne and Solich? They were in the same boat as Snyder.

Like I said, Purify will be punished, but I would appreciate if a few of you spared us your judgmental attitudes. I highly doubt any of you actually care about what he did. Your main interest in this story is that Nebraska's best wide receiver is in trouble. If one of our third-string walk-ons got in a fight none of you would care.  :users:

I liked you alot better when you didn't expect anyone to act differently to gain your appreciation.    :baityes:

he said that it was a fight, fists were flying right and left.  very hard to keep track of who hit who and who hit her.

I don't see why she is upset though.  don't matter if your a man or woman, if you jump in a fight you run the risk of getting hurt.  if you stick your finger in a light socket to see if it's "live" do you blame the wiring when you get a jolt?  please.  It isn't like he purposely sought her out and hit her, that would be one thing.  But, it's probaly pretty hard to stop a punch once you throw it.  I have been in lots of fights but I never had to try and stop a punch because some stupid bitch thought it would be a good idea to jump infront of my fist

You're assuming girls are rational, terrible mistake.

and to who ever said Purify is overrated, you are crazy.  Purify is BETTER than anyone we currently have on our roster at the WR position.

LOL. Incognito was a nut that even huggins would cut from the team. He was also a solich lineman, worthless for BC.

This is the true test.

He'll play against USC regardless of what comes out.  Take it to the bank.  They don't need him for Nevada and Wake Forest.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Callahan: you messed up kid.  I'm suspending you for 2 games to start the season.

Purify: ok coach.  I understand.  It won't happen again.

---Week 3 of Season---

Purify: alright coach, I'm ready to get with it again.  Who are we playing this week?

Callahan: well Mo, you're coming back just in time.  We got USC this week!  We need you to make some plays this week so we can beat top-ranked USC and everyone will get off my back about winning the big games.  Now, I've put in some special plays for you...

Show me defense.

Once again, what are you basing this on? Callahan's record of disciplining is fine.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable about this. If it is as bad as it sounds he should get kicked off.

No way he should get kicked off unless they can prove he provoked the entire situation.  I am sure this is not the first time that a doorman has had an altercation with a high profile football player or some other athlete.  Doormen are high school hero wannabe's who all too often take steroids, pick fights and sleep with sluts.

Bill Callahan has been an extremely "tough" disciplinarian on guys he didn't recruit.

Pretty soft on guys he did recruit.

Make statements when you're dealing with walk-ons or backups...not your super stars. It would be different if he were facing serious felony charges but in my mind this is minor. I expect some of these charges to be dropped and he'll face a fine and community service.

Callahan is not kicking him off the team.

When you see that much evidence against the guy,it is obviously about trying to protect his best Wr.

Very sad what some coaches will do.

Purify Arrested
Lincoln
Reporter: KOLN/KGIN
Email Address: [email protected]
Lincoln Police arrested Husker wide receiver Maurice Purify after a disturbance in a Lincoln bar at 11:50 p.m. Saturday.

Police say Purify was arrested on two counts of assault and one count of resisting arrest.

Police say Purify and a friend were denied admittance by a doorman at a Lincoln bar Saturday night.

Later Saturday night, at a different bar, the Alley Bar, 1031 M Street, police say Purify saw the same doorman and confronted him.

Police say Purify threw a punch at the man. Police also say Purify also assaulted the man's girlfriend when she intervened.

When police arrived, they say Purify didn't comply with their orders.

Purify was taken to jail and was let out on bond early Sunday afternoon.

University of Nebraska Athletic Department Media Relations Director Keith Mann said a statement would be released later Sunday.

the police say a lot I guess. . .they should probably stop talking and do their jobs.

Mo Purify: misunderstood victim.  Once the Truth comes out, he'll be cleared in time to play against USC.

The judgement is based solely on the facts.  He receive punishment equal to no less the Pacman.

ross pilkington-all conferance starting wr

wtf?

you are beyond stupid, i've given you too much credit.

when the hell was wonder bread all "conferance"?

the only reason he got kicked off the team was because he was called to testify in a steriod trafficking ring that involved a bunch of lincolnites and other current/former nu players.

    The very best.
purify, culbertson etc...
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

purify?  he doesn't even know all the details yet, either do the cops and I don't know anyone named culbertson.  besides, you said their is a history of BC going soft on discipline, that would mean you would have to have something to prove that, that doesn't involve purify.  Still, you have nothing, not one name, not anything.

I am not shocked at this

OT but I am going to stir this pot.  Marlon Lucky failed his intro to math class his first year at Lincoln.  The coaching staff came to his professor and begged for him to get an incomplete.  The professor, against her best judgment, relented and allowed him to retake the class this last year.  When the first homework assignment was due everyone (all football players, it is that kind of class) turned in their assignments.  The professor asked Marlon where his homework was and he responded with, "I am a grown ass man, I don't need this."  He then knocked his books onto the floor and stormed out of class never to return.  The coaching staff got him placed with another professor and he responded by failing intro to math again.  True story and, again, OT.

justin tomerlin- 4 star juco d=end

tomerlin wasn't a de, he was a tight end.  ass clown.

he was busted in march for dui, but still managed to stay with the team and play until the end of the october.  after it was obvious he sucked, and suckeds hard, slash made the cut (get it?).

as far as tomerlin.  signed as an end, switched to tight end later on.  anything else ass face?

There was that D-Lineman who got into a confrontation with the parking nazi and didn't miss a game.  It was a carbon copy of the T Clayton incident.  I think their parking nazi actually alleged physical contact.  The think the lineman left the team later that year but no sure.

so you were wrong on both counts.  culbert was busted after signing his loi with slashahan, apparently the dickweed felt that breaking into a girl's dorm and going after them was just in line with husker heritage.

the original charges were first degree sex abuse and first degree burglary.  he got 25 days in lockup and 5 years probation.

tomerlin was signed as a te, and only played as a te at nu.  check the &@#%ing signing day announcement if you don't believe me.

so that's two prime examples of criminals that slashahan still allowed to play.  you asked for 'em, you got 'em.

he didn't break in.  he was let in.  it was a pre arranged sex encounter on a recruiting trip.  the 2 girls never met the players and they went to their room at a very late tin the heat of the moment backed out.

anything else?  is tresspassing all you got?

if he was let in for a pre-arranged sex encounter, why the 25 days in lockup and 5 years of probation?

you asked for examples of slash not being a disciplinarian, and you got two.

and please let me know when white bread was all "conferance."

because after he was asked to leave, he did not leave, and I believe he brabbed one of the girls.  the case fell apart when the girls refused to testify because they believed the boys didn't do anything as bad as what the da wanted to make them out to be.

not sure how callahan is supposed to punish a kid that isn't even on the team yet, maybe you should email him and let him know how to pull that off.  and major never sat in jail for 25 days.  either way, you don't bench a kid for tresspassing.  like I said, is that all you got?
