News stations reporting that a large tornado has made a direct impact on Greensburg.  First reports are the 60 percent of the town has been wiped out.  Please keep everyone in Greensburg in your thoughts and prayers.

Is Greensburg home of the deepest hand dug well (110ft I think) and the largest meteorite of some sort?

Yes its about 40 miles east of Dodge City on Hwy 400.  Now reports on serious injuries, emergency crews from surrounding counties are responding.

My roommate is from Greensburg, he's leaving Lawrence to go home tomorrow. Thankfully his family is okay. If you guys find out anymore about the situation, please share the updates. Thanks.

sounds like you've been affected by this tragedy personally.

(giving you sympathy)
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Sounds like Macksville got hit.  Not as bad as Greensburg.  Reports from Greensburg are there are no fatalities as of now.  It looks like they had someone watching over them.

Well, that is good news, considering the circumstances. Thank you for the update, Marshal. And thanks, fatty, but my roommate deserves the sympathy, it's not like my town got wiped out. I just hope he gets through this alright, he's a good guy.

My roommate said that there are 12 in critical condition that have been transported to a nearby town. Let's hope they get through it alright. He's leaving for Manhattan tonight.

and fatty, I can't tell right now if you're being sarcastic or not, but if you are I really don't give a crap. If not, disregard the last sentence.

Be careful guys, sounds like it might be heading your way, it's shifted north/northeast in your direction. My roomie is staying in Lawrence tonight b/c nobody knows when the tornado is going to stop.

I'm going to bed, best wishes. Let's hope no more destruction occurs.

Roommate just got back. He told me that everyone within a 10 mile radius of town has been evacuated. 90% of the town has been wiped off the map. There are about 50 national guard soldiers on the scene picking up the wreckage, all roads into town are closed.  :frown:

They're getting hit with severe weather again. I really hope this doesn't turn into another tornado...

Looks a lot like where I live did in 1982 after hurricane Andrew.  Our prayers go out to everyone there and those affected.
