so, do you guys PM each other to let one another know who's gonna play good cop and who's bad cop before you get all these cubs riled up?

Honestly though... we're going to need some Prince/Freeman Farks before this thread becomes entertaining.

    The very best.
Jesus Fatty, you just got done posting "That Oklahoma State comeback was remarkable."

How'd OSU end up?  .500

that osu win was the difference between 3-5 (sub .500 in big 12 play/mark mangino specialty) and 4-4 (legit w/l record for 1st year coach)

Huge win. down 10 with 4 minutes left on your own 10 yard line. Thanks Josh.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

You can't be racist and like basketball.
No, we are going off a 4-3 big 12 record. Which is infinitely better than the 4-13 record we suffered through with Evridge, Webb, Meier.

Tell me, during that 4-13 stretch did Rob Jackson, Moses Manu, James Johnson, Leon Patten, Cedrick Wilson, Ian Campbell, Mike Pooshke (sp?), and Josh Moore play much?

4-13 stretch = 32 points per game given up by defense

4-3 stretch = 29 points per game given up by defense.

Had we of been a field goal a game better in '05, we would have won 2 more games and put us at 7-4 (4-4), and in the Big 12 Championship game.  That's not including the 3 point loss to CU either.  3 points is a huge difference.

New clock rules + more ball control on offense = lower scoring

And fatty took bait.  I think this is bait, anyway.  I don't think anyone would honestly be dumb enough to think Freeman's true freshman season shouldn't be considered a success.

Fatty, I am sitting here bored and waiting for a phone call. In your honor, I am popping in the OSU DVD and watching the last 5 minutes of the game. You are my hero today.

The quality of comments in this thread is terrible.  Some people clearly don't like Freeman and will make things up like he's being coddled or go strictly by his bad performances, which if you can't see that the Oline is the at the root of his terrible games is just short sighted.  If you say that Prince coddles Freeman because of some post game comments alone then I guess Pete Carroll coddles his entire team.  Prince is trying to help a freshman through tough performances and keep his confidence up.  What's wrong with that?  A lot of coaches do that with younger players.

Freeman was a true freshman, he won us at least 2 games straight up and had a winning Big 12 record.  He made some bad decisions in our losses too but you have to look at his support during those games as well.  Give him some goddamn time to mature, christ!  All of this complaining about a true freshman who got our losing program to a bowl game just wreaks of a spoiled fan base.
Show me defense.

Ladies and Gentlemen, all of this is stupid.

You cannot say that Freeman is a worse quarterback than what we had the two years prior to him. This was his first season out of High School. This was his first season in a college system. And the offensive line was not better last year than it was in the two years prior to then.

To say that we only beat texas because Colt got hurt is retarded. Texas scored 42 points. Colt doesn't play defense.

Josh threw some interceptions last year, and he is going to have to get better, but he's what, 19? 20? We still have 3 years of this kid, and having Carson there pushing him is only going to make him better, and more importantly only going to make us better.

Josh Freeman = Daunte Culpepper

Culpepper is 6'4" 265 and Freeman is 6'6" 238 (I think that was last year so he might even be a few pounds heavier)

No, we are going off a 4-3 big 12 record. Which is infinitely better than the 4-13 record we suffered through with Evridge, Webb, Meier.

Also was the first KSU QB since 1996 to lose at home to NU
First to lose to MU since 1992
First to get blown out by ku since 1992
I find it difficult to believe Evridge would have melted down like Josh did against ku....
That said, he's the QB we have so I want him to have success :ksu:

6'6 263 according to espn.com.  Either way, still closer to Freeman's size than Culpepper.   :nahnah:

It also took a fake field goal and a fourth and two for Nebraska to put us away, a fumble (not by Freeman) and long drive for Missouri to put us away and as far as the ku game is concerned.....Yes Freeman didn't play well but he's not responsible for giving up 201 yards to Jon Cornish.
