    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

My parents used to judge a victory by the number of "bigs" Holthus would say after a game.  Even predict how many there would be.  In case you didn't count that one was nine, which is close to if not the most he ever said.

I think the Oklahoma victory might have surpassed 9, I had it as my message greeting for a while back in 93 :ksu:

My friends and I went up and partook in that event.

I was at the K-State/ku game in lawrence in '96 and they had a dozen cops around both goal posts for the majority of the 4th quarter. K-state had an insurmountable lead that entire time.

I was there, but I was only 10, so I didn't rush the field. Hilarious though.

Oh, and I forget why beating ku was such a big win that year? Had it been awhile since we won in Lawrence? I'm too lazy to look it up.

How emberassing to have the opposing teams fans tear down your goalposts.  Noone was even there to defend them.  ku fans are horrible.

That is classic wildcat footage from 1994, KSU's first win in Lawrence since 1969.  That game also featured the near decapitation of Mitch Running on a punt return facemask.

The 1995 game was the "game billed as the biggest Sunflower showdown of all time," with KSU at 6-1 (ranked #14 coming off a 49-25 loss at Nebraska) and ku at 7-0 (ranked #6 after a big upset of Colorado).  Oh, by the way, that was a 10-BIG game for Mitch (I had the t-shirt to prove it) as KSU won 41-7 and had two RB's go over 100 yds for the first time in Sunflower showdown history.

Good times.

That was a fun night.  My first game in Lawrence, thursday night, ESPN.

As Minister said, the next year started the thrashings of ku (against one ku's best teams ever) that continued through the streak ending in Lawrence a few years ago.

That streak was a fun one for KSU fans and not once did I wish ku would get better so the series would be "more competitive".

Thanks FFF!  I remember talking to some Nubb fans before a game at KSU (must have been 1996), who thought it was hilarious that we did that at ku.  I threatened to drive up to Lincoln and tear down their goal-posts too when we beat them, but that was not the year.

For some reason 11 "bigs" sticks in my mind for when Bill "Moses" Snyder parted the Red Sea

I've never understood that line of thinking either.  I was happy with 64-0.  I don't get ku fans wanting us to be better in basketball either.

Watching the reaction of squawk fans and Larryville residents that afternoon of the game as K-State fans arrived in town in droves, with some blaring "Cat Scratch Fever" and /or "Purple Haze" from their vehicles, was quite the site to behold.  It was similar to that "blank stares at the local sports bar TV screens" they get as their over-hyped, NCAA probationary, illegitimate baby-making men's basketball team goes down in the NCAA Tournament.

FAN -- I too loved the cut off jerseys.  In fact, I currently have visions of Copper Bowls, Percell Gaskins, and bad haircuts dancing through my head.
