Apparently a deal almost went down where Denver would have moved up to #2 to get Calvin Johnson. The Broncos were willing to surrender their No. 21 overall pick, plus a second and third-round selection from this year's draft, and their first-round pick in 2008.

The Raiders are probably going to take JaMarcus Russell #1 overall unless they can make a deal for either Josh McCown or Daunte Culpepper tonight.

It looks like Adrian Peterson could go to the Browns or Cardinals but he could fall to the Vikings at #7 because there are concerns about his collarbone. If the Browns pass on him they'll probably take Brady Quinn that is IF Russell and Calvin Johnson are gone.

Levi Brown will probably go somewhere between #'s 8 and 10.

The Redskins might trade down and still get Ted Ginn Jr.

Apparently the Falcons tried to move up to #2 to get Johnson as well. They will apparently stay at #8 and try to get either OT Levi Brown or DT Amobi Okoye.

I'm going w/ the guy that's getting no mention: Paul Posluszny, LB Penn St.

KC might even be able to trade down a few spots to get him.

Herm has been pretty adament that KC won't draft a wide receiver, and part of me believes him. There should be decent WR's available in mid-RD 2. I just can't see Aaron Ross getting past Dallas, though it's possible. I'm pretty convinced Carl will never draft a DT ever again, and I don't think a DE (like Carriker) will fall to #23, either.

Posluszny makes sense on so many levels, that I don't even know where to start. But know this: The Chiefs have taken two Penn St. players in the last four years, and this would be the third since '03. I think Carl has a comfort level w/ Penn St., and I'm sure that Larry Johnson's dad (who was instrumental in KC landing Tamba Hali last year) ... will have had a chance to voice his input.

Just throwing that out there.

Mel Kiper and Todd McShay have the Chiefs taking Justin Harrell/DT/Tennessee with the #23 pick.

Carl has been Chiefs GM for 18 years, and has drafted a DT just 13 times ... only one of them (Sims), was a first-rounder.

The best DT he's ever drafted: John Browning, '96.

History suggests KC won't draft that position, but I guess we'll see.

J Rake is going nuts today.  He is ready for that kicker in the second round.

Laurent Robinson went one spot behind Figurs. Remember when he tore us up last year?

what sickens me most about the draft is that it appears the raiders did quite well.
