cornish was talking about how going to ku was detrimental to his nfl hopes when compared to other b12 schools.

talked about how ku players get no respect from nfl teams/scouts.  made me laugh when he mentioned all the players he thought should have been drafted from ku, but weren't.

ku gave him a chance.  He was a 2 star prospect at LB out of Canada.  What did he expect?

if you lead the big 12 in rushing, and have legit size, you should get some attn.

but if you're a hawk, apparently it doesn't matter.

Charles Gordon is another example...

He should have at least been drafted....I laughed when he wasn't taken. Who did he think he was....Chris Canty?

Now, if Aliq Talib doesn't get picked next yera....it'll be offiical....No serious ku talent to the NFL since Dana Stubblefied....unless you're an Isaac Byrd fan.

Once (or if you credit him the other win) - either way he was 2-2 against us...nothing to brag about and it still doesn't change the fact he is an a- hole and he won't play in the NFL

So did Bobby Elliott, but he isn't in the NFL.

who didn't?

Texas, CU, ISU, OSU

Texas put up 45 points on us. And the OSU game was hard to watch.

Silly me, but still 42 is usually enough points to blow someone out.

when cornish hit 200, we should have killed raheem on the spot.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Explain the relevance of that.......... to Cornish saying that playing for a piece of crap football program like ku hurt his draft status.

Thanks in advance Sir Argyle sweater!

kid got a $20,000 signing bonus in the CFL. Pretty good for someone lower than the lowly-regarded T-Gun.

-----------------------

Jon Cornish will play professional football this season — just not in the United States.

After not being selected in this weekend’s NFL Draft, Cornish, a former Kansas running back, has reportedly turned down NFL free agent offers to sign with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League.

Cornish will begin his CFL career after the end of the spring semester so he can finish his communications degree. CFL training camps begin in May and the regular season starts in June.

Cornish was projected by some NFL Draft experts to be a sixth- or seventh-round pick. His fall off the draft board could be attributed to teams selecting lowly regarded running backs like Thomas Clayton and Justin Hairston over Cornish. Clayton played just five games in his senior season at Kansas State under first-year coach Ron Prince. Hairston was a relative unknown from Division I-AA Central Connecticut.

Cornish upset makes me laugh! That's what you get when you're 206 lbs. of weakness and run a 4.63 at the combine. then again thomas clayton got drafted, haha. goes to show how the big timers look at the 2 schools, yay purple!

NFL.com on Cornish-
"Considered good at everything, but not great at anything. Not a truly explosive runner and lacks physicality and determination in his running despite his size … Too often goes down to the first tackler …"

Frankly, the more I read about the Cornish/Clayton deal, the more disappointed I am as  KSU fan.  ku was able to turn this 2 star LB prospect from Canada into the leagues leading rusher, plus he absolutely owned us this year.   Meanwhile, Clayton was a 5 star prospect that we all hoped just needed a change of scenery from FSU.  After "leading the nation in rushing" after a few games his first year he pretty much disappeared and contributed little to KSU; heck, he didn't even trip to the Texas Bowl.  I don't blame KSU too much for his issues, but still its disappointing to see yet another chance at a top notch transfer turning out to be a bust at Kansas State.

Okay, that's as much of a rant as I'll get into, but the more I've read about these two the more I see a guy who made the most of his situation in Lawrence while a guy didn't in Manhattan.  Frustrating for a KSU fan when all we have is making fun of ku for having a solid, overachieving player not get drafted.

Good point.  KSU fans held out hope b/c of his rating and measurables and that he went to FSU in the first place while ignoring (for the most part) why he might have felt the need to leave Tallahassee.  I'm anxious to see if he can make the roster for SF.
