Don't put NU in there because they aren't our rival

That's not why I put them in there.  There is just pure and complete satisfaction in beating their smug arses (S. Parker this only applies to the smug arses, you aren't in that category)....it's always a happy moment.

And really that's what the whole incredible part of the Snyder run was about....the smug arse fans and pundits and members of the football world who just couldn't wrap their brains (it's a difficult task to stretch something so small) around the enormity of the fact that KSU was one of the finest football teams in the nation.  The recent slips only reinforce this in their small minds.

Top 5:

5) Tie: USC at Manhattan defeat of Carson Palmer and last year's win over defending champ Texas.  Both crazy games in Manhattan, lots of memories of the plays in both games.

4) "The Snow Game" against Nebraska.  Just when we were all thinking the good times from the Bishop era were fading away and were going to be dominated by NU again, this game brings back the faith in that magic feeling that Snyder's teams could do anything.  When the snow started falling and Beasley kept hitting first down after first down on that last drive you just knew everything was going to be ok.  And then he hits Quincy Morgan over the middle for the TD.  Total chaos.  Beautiful memories of that night.

3) 2000 Cotton Bowl over Tennessee.  Went a long way to legitimizing us in alot of peoples eyes.  Dominated a good (not great) Tennessee squad for 90% of the game and did it well.  Great win and great exorcising of the bad Cotton Bowl memory.  We seem to do that alot at KSU don't we?

2) 2003 win over OU.  I've sat through alot of KSU dominated games before against crap conference teams (no offense MU, ku, etc) and enjoyed them, but it doesn't compare to the feeling of dominating and humiliating the "best college team of all time" in front of a national audience and finally getting that Stoops Bros monkey off the back.  I lost my voice watching that game

1) Beating Nebraska in Manhattan in 1998 for the first time in 30-something years.  When the NU kicker who never misses (Brown?) missed that easy FG in the south endzone (me and my mom were the ones who waved him off), I high fived everyone around me because I knew that was it, we were gonna win.  Man we all went nuts in Section 15 that night.  I swear I saw old ladies bodysurfing.

Honorable mention goes to several games against CU, the one at home where it snowed and Justin Swift had those crazy catches and also the one that sent us to the 1996 Cotton Bowl after Rick Neuheisel sang that song about us.  Also gotta throw in 66-0 and the entire Terry Allen era.

OU 93 was a long time ago.  That was a great day too though.
