He looks pretty built, but he must have something constricting his arm to get his veins to stick out like that.

I'm going to pretend I didn't see him wearing a KSU uniform.  :blindfold:

Yeah, that just looks kind of out of place.  Wish he would have been wearing that uniform in 96.

hey guys
i came across this info a while back.... I found it to be VERY VERY interesting considering my EXTREME distaste for all things K State and thought i would share my tale.

To make a long story short....i coach highschool basketball. Scott Frost's father is an administrator and/or AD at a small private school in Lincoln. During a tournament there i sat next to him and his wife while eating at the coaches/referrees/administrators buffet. this was right during the time that all the coaches from K St. were leaving to take other jobs....which i'm guessing was mid January.

the intent of my conversation was to let him know that we wished Frost well, despite the fact that he was coaching at KSU . He seemed to appreciate that and said most everyone they'd run into was very supportive of Scott's decision. He said Scott knew (or assumed) going into it (taking the job at KSU) that Husker fans may not care for his decision but was pleasantly suprised at how nice Husker fans were about it. He said Scott would have jumped at the chance to get on the staff at NU but that there "wasn't anything open so he had to do what he had to do."

So i asked him how Scott liked the job. I was suprised at how candid he was when describing his and apparently Scott's distaste for the KSU coaching staff. He said the defensive staff were on board an excited about getting things going at KSU. He said Scott was excited to learn more of the Tampa Cover 2 defense and that Scott had some experience with that system from his NFL days. His impression was that the staff was initially very fired up about turning the program around but that Prince's "methods just wore everyone down." Now again, this very well could just be the father's opinion of the situation, but he spoke as if his opinion was shaped largely by feedback from Scott. He was alarmed by how many coaches were leaving Prince to take "side-ways" jobs and i agreed that usually it makes sense for a guy to leave his job to take a better job, not to leave and go back to the same job he had before.

(which, if i remember correctly, didn't 2 coordinators/coaches leave their job to take the old jobs back ?) - i tried to research my facts on google but couldn't come up with anything but stories on Huggins leaving. -

So neways, he said Prince is "not a great guy to work for." he mentioned that he comes across as a guy whos got something to prove and "pushes people harder then you'd think." He mentioned a number of the players were not real excited about playing for him and that there were a number of issues where players were pitted against other players in a vindictive manner (i remember hearing about some of those player issues ) and said a number of times that Prince is "not a real likable guy." He said Prince carries himself with an attitude that "this is how it is, and if you don't like it, you can leave." He (Scott's dad) didn't seem to be overly optimistic that things would change at KSU and I told him that i hope they don't, because nothing pleases me more then to see KSU fail.

OK SO HERE IS MY DISCLAIMER...I realize this is COMPLETE heresay and i do not want to start anything crazy nor am i trying to intentionally badmouth anyone. This was simply an interesting conversation that i had with a guy who has some inside knowledge about the KSU coaching staff and it gave me great pleasure to hear his negative impression of the staff. Perhaps it will do the same for some of you out there.

Fascinating and corroborates my own suspicions.

Quote
Scott Frost has been around coaches his entire life. He knows enough to recognize a bad one when he sees it.

Quote
Great post Tim! I will take it as you said, a casual observation but like was already mentioned, I figured that Prince is a hard coach to work with and this does confirm my suspicions. I had heard from a friend who's daughter attends KSU that the kids on campus don't think much of him..... arrogance was the word thrown around. At the time I dismissed this as a new coach who came to town with a lot of unproven confidence but then all his coaches started leaving. Things that make you go hmmmmmmmm...............

Quote
Not a shocker at all!

Thanks for sharing--I am overjoyed that Scott is out of the litterbox and we have no former Huskers on the staff there anymore.

Quote
It's obvious Prince is not an easy guy to work for.

Quote
NUFootballTim.

I had the info on hand and had thought of working it up into a topic some day..... but just never did.

Quote
I recall a number of KSU players moving on too (Eldridge from Papillion for example)

Quote
the source is Scott Frosts father. the guy is an administrator/AD at a small private school in Lincoln.

Quote
Jim Kleinau, former equipment manager: Contract not renewed. The equipment mangager??? Irrelevent ... not irrelevant ... he was there for a long time and continuity is important whether it is the head coach, secretary or janitor is important ... he was run off by Prince!

I take it those quotes are from the Husker free board on Rivals? I don't understand why you posted them. It just looks like typical husker talk about Prince, who they don't like if you haven't noticed.

It's fourth hand gossip... but from a Husker fan.  It must be true!

Wait isn't Prince that guy... who stole some solid verbal commit away from NU?  Wait a minute, what's his name?  I think he was a QB.

No idea why they don't adore Prince.

Atleast they admit how obsessed they are with all things KSU.

This one is my favorite:

I'll admit it. Nebraska fans hate and are obsessed with KSU now. They bring KSU up a lot, they laugh at KSU misfortune when it occurs, and they absolutely despise Prince because of Freeman.

However, based on what I've seen on Rivals and from being around KSU fans, the same could be said of your fan base: the KSU fan base also hates and is obsessed with Nebraska. Hell, even on this board a lot of the threads are focused on Nebraska and its misfortune.

These are just facts. Things got like this starting back in the early nineties, in my opinion, and I think the whole NU-KSU relationship is really silly now. I hope our fans start getting along better, but I don't see that happening.

I'll admit that I like it when something crappy happens to Nebraska because I just find it a little bit humorous. But I would never go as far as saying "my extreme distaste for all things NU" or "it gave me great pleasure to hear his negative impressions." A little enjoyment, yes. Full on orgasmic joy, no. The NU fans on HI seem like they would rather have K-State lose than have NU win. That is ridiculous.

That would certainly be an improvement over last year.  They should allow Freeman to really unleash his true talent on the college football world.

dude, it's pathological.  i went back on a hunch that i could find at least one ksu thread on the front page after your comment.  check this one on the first page over there today:  http://65.98.70.3/vbbs/showthread.php?t=38174

No offense, but that's not even close to being true. They are obsessed with winning first and foremost. The KSU negativity only rears its head when they are bored because there is no husker news. You could time your watch to it--as soon as there is a slow time on the Husker boards news-wise a lot of our posters go over to start crap with your posters.

This weekend has been bad for that reason. There has been no husker news for a week, and KSU looked vulnerable because of the spring game.

It is the same for both fan bases. That is undeniable. I can go through this board and the one's on Rivals and find just as many negative posts on Nebraska.

Our fan bases just hate each other now. It's too bad.

You are probably right. I never go over there so the only time I read anything from there is when someone posts it over here. And when it is posted over here it always is about how much they despise K-State and it never really talks about themselves. Yeah, I was probably exaggerating a little bit.

118 yards rushing.  152 if you don't count Freeman peeing down his leg for -34.
