I never wrote it. Three reasons why:
1. D. Scott Fritchen wrote a comprehensive piece weeks ago, and I don't like to make a habit of repeating stories everyone else on the beat writes.
2. Any time Prince wants a story written about his program, he's not bashful about giving up the details, making sure we all know how good his players are. He's fine with dictating what we write. But when we want to do our jobs, which means original thought, he gets defensive and says he doesn't want outside influences "setting our agenda."
3. All anyone has written in the gushy, positive stuff. What about the kids who got frostbite? What about the kids who quit as a result of that trip? Never heard a word about those people.
Sorry, I never wrote that article. But I'm glad Fritch and Howard did.
