Chum = tardbasket.

Yeah, Meier was healthy until the '04 oline decided it liked watching people run past them more than blocking.

Please feel free to gather up all of your sunshine, go back to KStateFans, find some a$$holes, and pump away.

Feel free to start using some evidence to back up your useless drivel. :ustupid:

If you're really that impressed with Meier's mediocre stats and wish to keep making excuses for him, KStateFans is a great place for you.  GPC is even better in that regard.  We certainly don't need you over here to "set the record straight."

So this site, instead of being open discussion, simply pushes a different kind of kool-aid.

Tard.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

I am not saying he is the second coming of Joe Montana, just that you don't know what you are talking about.

This simply does not follow from what I said.  I believe that if you give it some thought, you'll be able to figure out why.

That's a tall order for a ku fan.

    Gettin' angried up!!!
I'm not completely sold on Meier, but I do see some definite positives about him.  While his arm strength is not great, it is enough for an offense that stresses shorter routes. (See Joe Montana's 49ers vs Elways Broncos, both quarterbacks arms were well suited for their respective schemes and each had great success)  Also, kurt Warner is not blessed with a great arm, but with the great speed the Ram's WRs had, they were able to turn short slant routes into long gains consistantly. (And those short routes left Isaac Bruce open downfield in single coverage; imagine Jordy downfield with no one but a free safety on him.)  I love Meier's leadership skills, his intelligence, his toughness, and his dedication to becoming better.  I remember being very frustrated with Beasley in spring practice, I didn't think he had enough tools to be a great quarterback, and I was more than pleasantly surprised with his win/loss record. If Meier stays healthy he will a great asset to the team, time will tell if he will be the starter or not. FWIW I feel if AE improves as much as he did last off season, he will most likely win the nod.

I said that he has not lived up to the hype, has only been mediocre, and yet many seem to be in love with him.  I also took a jab at him because he has not been healthy for the large majority of the past two seasons.  I find it hard to believe you take issue with this (despite the fact that you did) because it is so plainly true.  I'm guessing you think that I don't know what I'm talking about because I am not satisfied with what I consider to be mediocrity.  If this is the case, go ahead and tell me why you think I should be satisfied with his performance on the field.  Can you successfully argue that what he has done is better than mediocre?

Roberson was mediocre until halfway through his junior year; you can throw beasly in that category as well... My point not many people come in and look like a stud their Fresh & Soph Year.

Regardless of who is the starter come August ( http://www.wildcatdaily.com/view/article.asp?sectionid=Home/News&id=574-2006-04-29-84594-55 ) I’ll back them because I trust the coaching staff that is seeing first-hand more than anyone on this forum is.
I prefer to be a spectator than a coach wanna-be.  Not saying I won't have an opinion, but outside of a couple of meaningless spring practices and one spring scrimmage; nothing has happened.  So much could change between now and then, and I don't think it is wise to rule anyone out.

I think Roberson and Beasley as underclassmen showed a lot more potential than anyone since.  Roberson's game at OU in 2001 was absolutely sick.

At the same time, Roberson and Beasley were pretty mediocre passers.  Prince's QBs will need to throw the ball with a lot more accuracy than those two.  Even Beasley, the more accurate of the two, had difficulty with short dump-off passes at times (see Nebraska in 1999).

Lets look at several games though:

1.  Texas A&M in Collie Station.   Had the defense done anything, and freakin Sproles hung on to the football, KSU likely wins that game.  DM peformed admirably and moved KSU up and down the field.

2.  With a torn apart shoulder he single handidly willed KSU back into the game against CU in Boulder ... the Defense of course promptly screwed it up and no Overtime.

3.  He plays the whole game against ku in 2004, KSU walks out of there with a win, he threw for over 250 yards in the 2nd half alone.
