    PRIMETIME LEAGUE ALL-STAR
Im not a huge NBA fan but I enjoy the playoffs.  They actually try every game in the playoffs.  They should dump some games from the regular season but thats an debate for another thread, this here is about the playoffs.

Use the NFL model.  6 teams from each conference.  4 division winners + 2 wildcards.

1st round wildcard.  3 game series (top 2 teams from each conference get byes)
3 game series increases the likelyhood of an upset, top teams are rewarded by avoiding the short series.

2nd round 5 game series.

Conference Finals 7 games

NBA Finals 7 games.

Im sure theres some financial reason for having a 900 game postseason that ends on the 4th of July, but I think this model would be the best for fans.

Answer to the original question is "Fire Joey Crawford"

Cheesy Mustache QB might make an appearance.

New warning: Don't get in a fight with someone who doesn't even need to bother to buy ink.

Get rid of the 2-2-1-1-1 set up or whatever the hell it is, basically ensuring that every series goes to the final game.

Yeah the NBA is scary popular right now.

Do you honestly think that's because of the playoff structure?

I actually love that format.  With a 2-3-2, the home team is at too big of a disadvantage if they happen to split the first two.

The home teams win like 90% of the time anyway, make the series quick if they lose one of the first games.

2 teams with a sub-500 record are locks for playoff spots in the East.

Shorter series = greater chance of an upset.

Remember when the Nuggets upset the Sonics in 5 games?

Plus I think the length of the playoffs, kills all the momentum.

Good choice.  He could have been nothing but disruptive and distracting if he had been allowed to work the playoffs this year.  That said, I'm half surprised Stern didn't assign him to every Spurs game from now until 2010.
