You can't be racist and like basketball.
I don't know if you realized this, but he had freaking Raja Bell and Carlos Arroyo on the same team for two years.

He had the best record in FIU history, and no team has won more games than his worst season since he left.

These guys must know how to develop talent or something.

He didn't develop Raja Bell. Raja started at Boston University. I went to school with Raja. Knew the other guys on the team better. He was a bit of a loner. Word is he was "asked" to leave BU because of some transgressions.

I'll go ahead and ignore the above post and give Shakey credit.

Arroyo got into a lot of trouble at FIU, too.

What a coincidence. I was also asked to leave BU.  Not because of transgressions but because I spent too much time at places like Fenway instead of the classroom.
When I was a kid growing up in the projects, I used to dream of going into space, of escaping the slums, of killing an Ewok!

For real? Dude, I didn't do a thing in college. I was ashamed to admit that for a while, but it's pretty much true. And yes, my GPA suffered as a result. It's amazing I wasn't booted. I was kicked to off-campus housing for an incident I witnessed but barely had a hand in.

I could have returned on probation but it was way too expensive if I wasn't going to take it seriously.  Had a great time that one year though.

I went to BU for grad school.  Shared the ice with Drury and Poti once in awhile.
