We should be ridiculous for the 2008-2009 season.  We lose (red=major loss, black=neutral, green=who cares) - Nelson, Watts, Norwood, Pooschke, Robinson, Cline, Jackson, Manu, Roland, Baldwin, Garvin, McKinney, and Watts.

Good thing we hit up WR, OL, and DB, the last two classes, right?  However, DE= :ohno: unless we consider moving Campbell back to DE to make room for Arthur Brown

I agree with you stunner. 8-4 or 7-5 sounds about right for next year. We don't really beat anyone good next year.

Looks like ISU will be our "Big" road win like CU was this past season.

ISU is a tougher road win.

And for the Auburn game to be significant for our big 12 play, we need to play well throughout. Baldwin Garvin and McKinney are all neutral losses? Pooshke isn't a who cares either, he might win the LS spot!

lets just hope freeman keeps those int's under control this season. :hope:
sitting through that game in larry town last year was unbearable. :chainsaw:

We won't lose to Fresno State  :yuck:

Our losses-
Auburn
Texas
Nebraska
Oklahoma State

Toss up-
Missouri

So I'll go with 7.5 wins on the year.

at Auburn-LOSS
San Jose State-WIN
Missouri State-WIN
at Texas-LOSS
Kansas-WIN
Colorado-WIN
at Oklahoma State-LOSS
Baylor-WIN
at Iowa State-WIN
at Nebraska-LOSS
Missouri-WIN
Fresno State-WIN (but this game scares the crap out of me)

So....I think our schedule is favorable for an 8-4/7-5 type of record. If we can steal a road win at Ok State that'd be amazing, and i'm confident that we'll beat Fresno, but you never know when you play those guys. either way i can't wait for football season to get here!!!   :woohoo:

Sorry; but I can't do it any other way:

at Auburn         .2
San Jose St.     .9
Missouri State   .95
at Texas          .1
Kansas            .8
Colorado          .9
at OK State     .4
Baylor             .9
at Iowa State   .8
at Nebraska      .5
Missouri           .55
at Fresno State .8
                      7.8
8 - 4 (5-3)

IMO games that could go either way (let's say 40-60% chance of winning, in order from least to most likely wins) are @OSU, MU, and @ISU.

So, worst case, IMO is 6-6, and best case is 9-3.

KANSAS STATE FOOTBALL 2007-2008

at Auburn - LOSS (0-1, 0-0)
San Jose St. - WIN!!! (1-1, 0-0)
Missouri State - WIN!!! (2-1, 0-0)

at Iowa State - WIN!!! (6-3, 4-2)
at Nebraska - LOSS (6-4, 4-3)
Missouri - WIN!!! (7-4, 5-3)
at Fresno State - WIN!!! (8-4, 5-3)

This is what to shoot for.  I think the season will be defined by 1.  Not getting crushed like a dove named Al in S. Carolina (does anyone outside the SEC actually know where Auburn is without checking?) and holding our own against Texas and Nebraska for a half.  2.  locking down BSFS (not a hard schedule)  3.  Okie State, Fresno St. and Iowa State.  We need to win one, two is solid and three means  .

Competing in every game would be a sweet, sweet gift of joy.  Prince's record so far indicates blowout or bust, but I think that there is something to be said for keeping yourself in games.  I would like to see us compete in Lincoln, Austin and Auburn.

Sept. 1 at Auburn (ESPN) Auburn, Ala. .1               Yeah, right.
Sept. 8 San Jose State Manhattan, Kan. .9            They're no Illinois State.
Sept. 15 Missouri State Manhattan, Kan. .95          Woot.
Sept. 29 at Texas Austin, Texas .1                       Hahahahahahahahaha!
Oct. 6 Kansas Manhattan, Kan. .6                         .1 for home field.  They'd be favored in Lawrence.
Oct. 13 Colorado Manhattan, Kan. .75                    I don't think Hawk turns it around quickly enough to win.
Oct. 20 at Oklahoma State Stillwater, Okla. .25       Gundys have that ship headed in the right direction.
Oct. 27 Baylor Manhattan, Kan. .85                       Ugh.
Nov. 3 at Iowa State Ames, Iowa .6
Nov. 10 at Nebraska Lincoln, Neb. .2                      Double the chance of winning at Auburn or Texas.  Ain't sayin' much.
Nov. 17 Missouri Manhattan, Kan. .5                      Late season slide time for Mizzou.  Hope it helps us.
Nov. 24 at Fresno State (ESPN) Fresno, Calif. .55    Yeah, going on the road to Fresno is TOTALLY easy!

Looks like about 6 wins.  Eyeballing it, that looks about right.

That was last year, our talent has improved and we have a renewed faith.  And a slightly biased opinion.  But I'm sticking to my guns that 8-9 wins is do-able.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.
