It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Pre-spring is tough, but I'd probably guess 7-5, with the extra loss coming from Baylor, ISU, or Marshall.

In my fake universe, KSU goes undefeated and takes their first National Championship, makes Bill proud by completing his legacy only one year out.

But in Reality, I would have to agree pretty closely with those predictions, but I do think that the Missouri game will come out as a Win as Brad Smith is graduating (I believe, I could be wrong).  Im not so sure I would slate Iowa State down as a Win just yet.

I started to reply and then remembered predictions don't mean crap and that I really don't like predictions and so I canceled my post and I really like the word "and" and I'm so damn optimistic when I do predictions that they really come out looking stupid and so I didn't post.

Sept. 2 Illinois State    W (38-0)  Everybody feels good about Ron's first win.
Sept. 9 Florida Atlantic W (27-3)  Offense hiccups a bit.  It's all good.
Sept. 16 Marshall     W (17-14)  Defense plays well enough to bail out a still-struggling O.
Sept. 23 Louisville L  (13-27)  Offense finally costs us a game, including giving Louisville a pick-6.
Sept. 30 at Baylor L (17-24)  Not realizing just how much improved Baylor is, and that our team is still learning the Prince system, we see several threads on the message boards asking if Prince was the right hire.
Oct. 7 Oklahoma State W (27-21)  Offense puts it back together.  Prince gets his first Big XII win.
Oct. 14 Nebraska L (13-31)  Nebraska's surging after "getting" Callahan's approach.  They pull down our pants and embarrass us at home.  Several more threads on whether Ron Prince was the right hire.
Oct. 21 at Missouri W (27-20)  Much like the basketball team after the NU loss, the guys go on the road after a tough home loss and win one.  Renewed sense of optimism on the message boards, as we see several threads declaring that we're back in the division race.
Oct. 28 Iowa State L (21-31)  After this game, Iowa State officially has our number.  Threads from the week before are bumped sarcastically.
Nov. 4 at Colorado W (27-24 2 OT)  I'll agree with fatty on this one.  Colorado sucks, but a lack of confidence from our guys keeps this game close.  Prince's halftime motivational speech spurs the guys to a win in double OT.  Threads bumped from the week before are now bumped again as the Cats become bowl-eligible.
Nov. 11 Texas L (31-28)  Cats play their hearts out, but Texas squeaks out with the win.  Fans focus on the all-important game in Lawrence the next week.  Hawk fans come over to the boards and talk out their rear-ends.
Nov. 18 at Kansas W (30-10)  Prince and the players punish ku from the beginning of the game, seeing the opportunity to end the regular season on a high note.  Cats finish 7-5.
Late December in Houston Bowl vs. South Florida W 20-14.  Prince leads the team in a win against Leavitt's boys.  Several threads after the game declaring the Cats the odds-on favorites to win the Big XII the following season.

    warm up the EMAW
Sept. 2 Illinois State    W (35-20) shaky win spring game confidence lags
Sept. 9 Florida Atlantic W (35-10) defense improves and provides O with short field
Sept. 16 Marshall     W (31-24)  Defense shaky but forces turnovers, offense executes in short field situations but far from effective in sustaining drives
Sept. 23 Louisville L  (17-35)  Could argue it was close for most of three quarters but then again Louisville controlled the game all the way
Sept. 30 at Baylor W (24-21) this is Baylor, Prince realizes this is a huge game, guys gut it out in UGLY comeback win with O or D making big play late
Oct. 7 Oklahoma State W (35-13)  oSu struggles and KSU gets a solid home win
Oct. 14 Nebraska W (35-21)  KSU plays a complete game and takes advantage of poor NU defense
Oct. 21 at Missouri L (27-24)  MU goes all CU on our ass with Jake Plummer roll-outs to countless 3rd and short conversions hitting FB and TE in the flats.  Beginning of Midseason free-fall
Oct. 28 Iowa State L (13-21) I begin to question why I am so optimisitic
Nov. 4 at Colorado L (17-24) We never win in Boulder, offense goes into witness protection due to injury or whatever
Nov. 11 Texas L (31-28)  Rally Caps not enough, the slide continues
Nov. 18 at Kansas W (42-21)  Prince and the players punish ku from the beginning of the game, seeing the opportunity to end the regular season's losing streak on a high note.  Cats finish 7-5.

I think 7-5 is most likely.  Wins vs IllSU, FA, MarU, OSU, @ MU, ISU, @ ku.  A trip to Houston or Fort Worth.  Should be fun.

I continue to be less and less impressed w/Prince.

5-7 is my new prediction. Prove me wrong.

At least watch 'em practice once. :)

We'll see what we've got.  It'll be nice to see some practices.

How can you be less and less impressed at this point? So far it's just all coachspeak.
