One Problem with WVU press conference regarding Huggy

If they (WVU) are considering Huggy, and are in fact going to announce him as coach at WVU, wouldnt they be skipping the most vital step in asking a coach to leave one school and go to another.
Why havent we heard that WVU has been given permission to speak with HCBH??

I don't think either side would announce that publically.

that's the official route.  that's what you do when there is no personal connection to the school.

when there is a personal connection to the school, you use unofficial contacts.  that way if you get shot down, you can save face.

like mangina withdrawing an offer when it's clear he's been eliminated, only cooler.

Yes it is a rule and there has been no indication from anyone (ESPN etc) that have said anything about permission asked or given to for WVU to talk to Huggins or even make him an offer.  I believe that they do have to make it public that another school has asked to talk to a coach on a current contract .... i.e. - Donovan at Florida.  Florida was asked permission for Kentucky to talk to him and it was public annouced and then flat out turned down.

They may just be feeling Huggins out to see if he is interested and then again, if this press conference does happen tomorrow - they say that someone else is going to be their head coach.
But, then again - none of us know and he may already be gone from KSU.

Still, if a press conference is schedualed in less than an hour, and they are planning on naming Bobbo there coach, they need to contact the school he is leaving from
