    This ZERO is my Hero
I wouldn't say we're the favorite right now, but I think were one of 3, NU, MU and KSU that could win it.  But we do have the x-factor, which in the end does maybe put us in the lead....bold and daring!

I'll call Mangino and tell him there's no need to try.

Prince has already called dibs on the north.
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

Mangino needs to try and go .500 in league play before he worries about winning the north.  He won't again this year.

The way things are coming together I'd say it's still not probable, but it could happen.

Well since ku has never finished higher than 4th in the NORTH you might as well give him a call.

Mangina knows his destiny, no need to call him.

It might be better to give him a call and tell him to try and win the North.  It doesn't seem like he's been trying at all the last 5 years.

But seriously, if what the propaganda machine is saying is true, then the list of questionable areas keeps getting smaller.  Some said we need a third QB, we've got Hartman coming in, not experienced but would do if needed.  OL needs to grow by leaps and bounds-true but they can't get worse can they?  Alesana's 6'3" not 6'6"-so what? 6'3" 315 lbs by the fall (very do-able) is still a good sized tackle.  LB corps is weak-y'all are looking too much into this!  Campell is smart enough to adjust and has five months to do it.  Roland is stepping up, and Patterson could step onto campus and have an instant impact.  We've got some great stuff on offense, could be VERY explosive.  And depending on how the season pans out, 9 wins could take the north.  Guess what happened the last time we had three losses in a season?

Yeah, because we all know how many Big 12 North "titles" Mangino has won.

Ell Roberson got caught with his hand in the cookie jar which knocked the wind from our sails just before our first and only BCS bowl appearance?  :peek:

If historical facts only mattered than Ksu never would have lifted itself out of the dumps to become the average team it is today.

Things change. Kstate fans should know this, so the 'You've never won it before!' argument is just silly. I'm laughing it off as we speak.

The fact that Mangino has been completely unable to take advantage of KSU, CU and NU being down speaks for itself, It's comical that he hasn't gotten to .500 with as bad as the north has been.

That's not the point.  Everybody in the Big 12 North BUT ku has at least sniffed winning a North Title.  We're just making fun of your comment about Mangino just throwing in the towel now . . . posted like ku is typically a lock for the Big 12 North.

Yes, that is the point. Not having sniffed it before doesn't mean a damn thing for the future.

In no way did I imply that Mangino was a lock for the North. I've reread everything I've said in this thread and I'm not seeing it.

I implied that Mangino plays to win the north. Continue your delusion though.

As long as it's not the towel the trainer wiped his arse with...he can throw it anywhere he wants.

I was thinking more along the lines of a Big XII Championship.  But yes, that's true too.

Got to stick up for Goldy here.
2002- 0 wins
2003- 3 wins
2004- 2 wins
2005- 3 wins
2006- 3 wins

ku is clearly showing how "things change".  In 2006 they had their single highest conference win total of the entire Mangino era.  Get on board this train early

During a blowout of ku a few years ago (when we were good), the gals sitting in front of us became extremely bored and had pretty much the entire section debating whether or not Mangino's arms were long enough to reach his rectum for a good wipe after a poo. After a lot of bincoluar time, we all pretty much reached a consensus that the man cannot wipe himself. Maybe there's a job opening for Shorty here.

Mangino had a shower installed in his office so he can spray down after he takes a crap.  He cleans up with a towel.
