IHOP is going in the downtown development. A Mongolian Barbecue is going in the mall. A Hilton Square hotel is going in the downtown development. I've heard Olive Garden and Red Lobster but we always hear that and it never happens.

Awesome, that will help traffic flow in that area tremendously.

I think that one has been floating around since the mid-90s.

Manhattan still needs a Hooters!

Finally. Just as I graduate. Bastards.

Did Starbucks and the Union break off their talks? Does that mean Radina's is headed to the Union?

Where is this new Wendy's?

McCall Rd. just west of Wal-mart.  If you drive by you'll see a sign that says something to the effect of "Coming soon Wendy's".

I'd just about kill for a decent Tex-Mex place and I was hoping for an On The Border.  Mexican food here sucks and although OTB isn't the best I've had it makes a joke out of the Mexican / Tex-Mex restaurants in Manhattan.

I'd put Texas Star up against most Tex-Mex.

And for Mexican, El Cazador is almost as satisfying as a ku loss in March.

Isn't America's most popular restaurant McDonalds?

I would say anyone that thinks On The Border is better than El Caz has horrible taste, regardless of color.

I respectfully respect your opinion.  OTB has pretty decent fajitas minus the store bought tortilla's.  El Caz just rubs me the wrong way.  It is important to note though that El Caz is a Mexican restaurant where as OTB is a Tex-Mex restaurant.  Now, if you ever get down to tejas be sure to hit Mi Pueblo in North Richland Hills, TX... that place is amazing.

Back to the thread... have any of you eaten at a Baja Fresh?  Best freaking quick Cal-Mex on the planet.  Yes... better than Chipotle and I like Chipotle.

Why does Caz rub you the wrong way?  OTB rubs me the wrong way, too, but it's because of the bland, nasty crap for food and the commercials with the horrible fake accents and/or the ones saying OTB is better than your typical Mexican restaurant because all the servers speak great English.

If OTB is considered "decent" Tex-Mex, Tex-Mex must suck in general.  JMO.

Baja Fresh is good...they all shut down at once in KC a couple years ago.

Better than Rubio's, though?

Bring back Burrito King!

There's a new one called La Fiesta that went in recently at Tuttle Creek and Kimball.  Have one in Abilene, Salina and I think McPherson.  Bout the same as El Caz (at least the one in Abilene is).

Ya know, I've never had Rubio's.  It was a sad day in my life when they closed down Baja Fresh in the KC area, the wife and I made the drive to KC a couple of times just for Baja Fresh.

El Caz, I'm not sure what it is about that place but I just don't like it.  Maybe I'm ordering the wrong meals because the food just seems so plain.  Now as far as OTB goes... try the steak fajitas, I was pleasantly surprised when I ordered them.

I don't see how you can not like El Caz's fajitas.  I've never met anyone that didn't love them.

So, they are essentially Topeka-ing Manhattan. Red Lobster, Olive Garden and On The Border FTW!  Can't wait until they get a Rib Crib!  :jerkoff:

On the Border is nearly as bad as Carlos O'Kellys.  The food is crap.  The only redeeming feature about OTB is the limitless combinations of Margaritas you can make, however they are damned expensive.

We have a Texas Roadhouse, a Longhorns and a Timberline.  3 crappy steakhouses within half a mile of each other.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Yep.  They were forced to change their name to 'Bordertown.'  I love the food at all Tex-Mex places because I always get loaded up on tequila before it ever hits my mouth.
