Dee bell runs a 10.5 100 meters and he is half of lamark's size, would think that most agree that Bell is fast.

Well let's see here..

Yamon = 4.3 for the 40

So that's like, 1.075ish seconds per ten feet

100 in 10.89 is..1.09ish seconds per ten feet.

Doesn't look that bad at all by comparison.  Of course, the 40 and the 100 are different, but both sprints..Considering Lamarks size I'd say it's good.

Certainly not slow by any means especially not for a guy his size.  A lot of how impressive it is depends on factors such as wind and what kind of timing mechanism was used.  If that is FAT timed without the benefit of a signifigant tail wind then that is damn good for a guy his size.  If it's hand held or if he had a big tail wind then it's hard to tell too much from it other then you know he's not slow.  Even with a big tail wind you don't run under 11 flat if you're slow.

The great ku player Jake Sharp runs it in 10.4

A few things to keep in mind it's still early in the track season.  Kids typically run faster as the season goes along.  Also Brown is 225 pounds and over 100 yards that makes a big difference when comparing him against a guy that weighs 175 or whatever guys like Dee Bell and Jake Sharp weigh.  You'll see big guys run some really fast 40 times but it's rare to see a bigger guy run a blazing 100 meter time the farther the distance the more the extra weight takes it's toll.

Damn you Legore, you beat me to it.  But it's true, a heavier body takes it's toll more on longer sprints vs. on the 40.  So for anyone that's 225lbs. that's a helluva 100m time.

  Great job LaMark!

Problem is, what do you think the average size of a HS 100m sprinter is?  I'm just guessing here, but there probably aren't many that weigh over 190-200 lbs.  And 190 is pushing it.

I'd say 150's average.

Lamark's speed is very good for his size.

10.89 is a very good time early in the season....wind-aided, handheld, FAT, whatever.

Somebody talked about Dee Bell and Jake Sharp...neither ever ran faster than a legit 10.7.  Both had wind-aided, handheld times in that 10.4-10.5 range but even then they were later in the track season.  Times get lower as the season progresses.

Yes, 10.89 is FAST, especially for a big dude like Lamark.

stunner, good find but do you have a link for this 10.89?

We're not looking for world records, how 'bout average HS 100m times, and/or top HS 100m times with runner's ht/wt.

Why don't ya do your own research.  It's just perspective....maybe somebody is looking for the best 100m times ever ran...1.1s puts him within about 35' of the fastest human ever....which is not too shabby in my book.

i was just posting a worthless comment about Sharp

I know him and his best in competition is like 10.5 but he claims he can run 10.35-10.4  :jerkoff:
