Last weekend, when talking about the chicken throwing and PETA with some friends of mine that work for K-state, they were telling me that it had gone as far as there being a $5000 reward for turning in those reponsible for throwing the chickens.

Now it seems that one of the students was turned in.  They've called him and want him to come in and talk to them.  So far he's kept his mouth shut.

Some of the GPC members are pledging money to pay for a lawyer if it goes that far.  I'm sure it's only a matter of time before one of the members who's actually a lawyer will defend him for free.

Gotta say, this is developing into quite a hilarious story.

LONG LIVE THE CHICKEN TOSSERS!

That kid needs to make sure that he doesn't say anything to the police without a lawyer.

This is ridiculous.

Whoever "snitched" better hope the wrong people don't find out who he/she is.  This could get ugly over a couple of damn chickens!  For $5000 I'd turn myself in!  What's the fine for "animal cruelty", since that is the only thing I can see coming out of this if anything.

I would turn someone I didn't like in, and use the pictures we have on this site of the chickens and photoshop their face in.

The person I don't like gets in trouble, I get $5000, double score.  The 5k could pay for an entire semester of college.

Do you get the 5K if you turn yourself in?  I think you might need someone to turn you in to get the $

There's a new sheriff in town.
With a 5k award, there's going to be a lot of chickens thrown next year.
Hell, I'll throw one too, my wife can turn me in, collect the 5k...it's all good.

    THE b IS NOT CAPITALIZED
Thats sad on so many levels.

Shame on the dick that turned him in. Have fun with the 5k.

And Kstate is spending 5000 bucks on snitch money for a rival prank?  Money well spent.  :jerkoff:

Oh, and LOL @ GPC
I'm telling you, this is not ANYTHING like the team from the beginning of conference play. You will see no more blowouts like what happened in OOC.  If we lose, it will not because these kids gave up, and it will be at the buzzer. -Rodless, before 97-70

The fine is probably more than the reward.  Or at least the legal fees from when PETA sues.

I'd like to know where the money is coming from.

If it's coming from the police department or city, then WTF!?  Tax money getting wasted on this crap?

If it's coming from KSU, then WTF!?  That's like a semesters tuition, books, and living expenses.  That money could be putting someone through a semesterof school right now.

I wonder if PETA is funding the rewards?  because I don't think the university would try and punish people for doing a school tradition, so why would they give a reward to find them?

I was led to believe the reward offered was from the humane society.

That's Horse S hit! I would encourage the accused student to stay quiet and make them prove it! Find out who the snitch is and beat the crap out of who ever turned the chicken thower in! Students at KSU should have a public chicken ringing! What has the Univ. come to. I hope the student have the nadds to push this crap back because that's all it is.

Oh, and Pita!! This birds for you!!  :twobirds: :twobirds:

PETA can't sue.  They have no standing as they weren't victimized or involved in any way.  Animal cruelty is the most they can get out of it.  I still find it hard to believe that there would be much of a prosecution unless its a squawk judge.
