12th/12 in the Big XII, talk of Deb being fired, bounced in the first round of the Big XII tourney

I was shocked when the chicks made the WNIT.
I was even more shocked when they got a BYE in the WNIT.
I was continually shocked as they were picked to host games.
I was the most shocked as they started winning, and convincingly.

Srsly.  If they win their next game against Wyoming, they're in the WNIT championship for the second year in a row.

Someone explain this to me.  My chickball IQ is obviously very low.

It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

I can't imagine a religous nut dealing with all the sin that goes on with Mens Basketball at ku.

Obviously they didn't deserve to get in but with the state of women's basketball they've got to pump up their floundering tournaments somehow. Seriously.....You're WAY too excited about this.

    I miss him ^^
Only problem is that the WNIT was on their knees because K-State was almost filling the house last year during the NIT run......but this year it's been between 1,500 and 2,500 each game.  The only reason they have been hosting games is because the WNIT was hoping for the same attendance as last year.  Oops.

2000 per game is actually not that bad for a WBB game.

I heard if we win on Wednesday night we host the championship game.

Wyoming, who we play next, drew 10k + last game.

Edit:  Not sure why I said "we".  I don't associate with women's basketball at all.  Please forgive me.

Back to Back would be impressive but Wyoming is a good team that the girls almost lost to earlier in the year - thank goodness for Claire in that game

The attendance is bad for a team that got a bye and home games purely based on hopes the numbers would be higher. In the future, we will not get the special treatment we got this year.  Just curious and way too lazy to look it up but we leap frogged a number of big 12 teams to get in, didnt we?

The biggest reason we got in was because teams non NCAA teams in front of us didn't accept or didn't qualify.  UT declined.  Tech, CU and ku all had overall losing records which made them ineligible.  That makes 4 non NCAA Big 12 teams in front of weren't in.  MU was the only other Big 12 team in.  The attendence last year probably helped some, but all the others not being in helped even more.

Dietz and defense are the main reasons......

That being said, it's gonna be darn right impossible
to beat Wyoming in front of their 10,000 plus fans.

Shalee's brother Matt, who played football at Wyoming(98')
and still resides in that area, has been going to their
games in Laramie, and says we don't have a chance
tonight. Says they are playing too well, and with
the altitude and crowd noise, it would be a difficult task.

I would be totally surprised if they won, but the scary
thing is that if they do....I'm pretty positive they would
host the championship game on Saturday because the
2 teams on the other side of the bracket have been drawing
about the same crowds as us.

This whole season has been too strange to figure out,
so I'm not gonna even try.

Don't worry. With the MC AA game, no one will even notice they will be playing.

Home bids in WNIT are based only in part on attendance.  Each school is given the opportunity to place a bid with the WNIT (i.e. buy the game) but have to meet minimum $ amounts for each round.

With 2700 in attendance at our last game we're top 5 in attendance for the hosting schools in that round behind Wisconsin and Wyoming of the remaining teams......and the only reason I know all this is because there was an article about it up here in Wisky with their AD saying they're re-submitting their bid for the championship game to make sure they can get it presuming they win tonight.
