ku is pointing to the schedule a lot to why they will have some success this year. They don't have OU, UT and TT.
I think their OL will be better. The DL being better is still quite uncertain. Charlton was pretty good last year and Allen had a lot of starts under his belt. Last years DL also had more freedom to cut loose IMO because they knew how good their LB core was.
ku has 2 pretty good players on D (Talib and McClinton) Everyone else has a lot to prove now that the 5 best players from last years D are gone.
Cornish is a good back. He is no stud. LIke I have said, i don't care how good on ST he was last year, if he was a stud, he gets more carries and see 80 percent of the plays on offense over Green.
There were a lot of questions about the playcalling last season, and the QB situation was a mess. We wanted more Cornish, Quartaro often gave us quick-slants on 3rd and 2.

We have a couple of OL that are potential All-Big XII--Ochoa and Anthony Collins, who overtook the undersized Matt Thompson at Tackle last year. Wayne Wilder, James McClinton, and Rodney Allen could contend for all-conference honors as well, especially if Eric Butler gets to come back (he is appealing the NCAA ruling about his eligibility running out) to add depth. The competition is heavy at LB right now, and it looks like only Rivera has locked up the starting MLB spot. Mortensen is good, but it appears Jake Schermer has improved quite a bit and is pushing him hard. One could say they are all young, but I like the competition. Stuckey and Kemp look like the starting safeties right now, but Olaitan Oguntodu is a physical freak and will at least make the two-deep. Talib is...Talib. The second CB spot is an area of concern...I hear Strozier and Anthony Webb (both frosh) are pushing Bueltel (mid-year JUCO) for the starting spot.
There are a number of questions, but morale is good, the players are physically better than we've had in a long time, and there is healthy competition. Not trying to blow sunshine, just my .02.
