I think ku is kind of in a flux struggling for an offensive identity in the post Reesing era. Heck they're struggling for an idenity even with him this year. Pick is more of a running QB which would mean a drastic change in their offense. Not sure if they want to go that route or if they even have the people to go that route. Their o-line can't run block, I don't like their RB situation Opurum is a slow plodding back and not sure what else they even have aside from him.
That is the one thing I love about Snyder he knows what he wants to do and how he wants to build his team. People make fun of him for running the option with Dylan Meier but over the long haul it's much better to have a system and stick to it. IMO Mangino lucked into Reesing and had a good year or two with him running an offense that isn't really his own.
Now that Reesing is graduating and people are catching up to the spread he doesn't know what he wants to do. He won't really have the people to run the spread next year and he won't really have the people to run his old offense which was much more similar to Snyder's. When people talk about ku's 07 team they forget that offense was kind of a hybrid. Sure they threw it well but they also ran the ball downhill quite a bit with Brandon McAnderson and they had a physical offensive line. As they've gotten farther and farther away from running the ball their offense has gone down hill.
