Both of those have ties to the Big 12.  IIRC, if we have six wins and the big 12 has enough eligible teams to fill all spots, it is a rule that we be left out.  Pete posted something about the rule earlier.

I think if you take care of some business at home in conference, steal one on the road somewhere and take care of your non-conference, you get to seven wins right there. Do I think that's going to happen? No, I don't.

my understanding is that with two D-1aas on the schedule we need to win 7 games to make a bowl. ....but with 6 wins someone will take us. Does it even work that way? someone clear this crap up...
