"It went okay," said Blair. "It was kind of out in the middle of nowhere. The football game was okay."
I am just going to write a little story here. It really has nothing to do with anything, and yet it has a little bit to do with everything.
Not too long ago I was hired by a company as a contract worker working from home. The enitre week prior to our first online conference meeting I had been having constant connection problems with my ISP. I was spending 2 hours a day on customer support trying to get it resolved and was a very unhappy camper.
Then came the day of the first online conference, I was already on the edge with all the hold time from my ISP customer support. I get online to my first conference and I guess I was breaking up a bit and the pitch of my voice sounded off. I was being polite under the circumstances and then someone in the conference said, "Are you sure this isn't what you always sound like?" I snapped and said "Screw You!"
All the sudden everyone in the conference suddenly became silent, except for a few "sighs."
I thought to myself, ok, this is worthless so I logged out only to find out later that I had just told the CEO of the company, "Screw You!"
Amazingly enough, I was not fired, and actually have done very well with the company.
Over time, the company employees have began to use "Screw You!" as a term as endearment when disagreeing with each other or just to say I love you too.
So, which is it Blair and Kennedy?
"Screw You!" or "Screw You?"
