With MU's recent success and their new found "we are GOD's" attitude.  KSU fans have recently fallen to #2 on my hate list.  Come up with some new burns other than on Pelini (like attacking some of our non law breaking players) and maybe you will go back to #1.  The current ranking on the hate list:

#1 MU fans (dirty Rivals MODS, kcfarmer, huskerh8ter...)
#2 KSU fans (you know who you are... lol)
#3 CU fans (they are just gay hippies that throw piss balloons at opposing players)
#4 Notre Dame fans (they are always in the top 5 with their "we are superior human beings" attitude)
#5 Miami fans (can't they ever post like they are gangsters?)

Keep up the good work boys and you might become #1 again!

It must suck not having a bitter, historic rival like KSU has.  No matter who's up and who's down, Texas will always be #1 on my hate list.  :hornsdown

Missouri fans are my #1 as well. Although I also like them because they don't know anything about football (i.e. leaving at halftime in '04).

OU would be numero uno if they were in the north. Might be a tie now that I think about it.

You guys really need to start getting some recruits (HS).  ku just got its 6th commit yesterday and is close to a couple more.  If you want good players on your team, getting them to commit is almost a necessity.  What's Ron's number?

I wonder if Ron is actually attempting to recruit.

When he gets fired, everyone will assume it was because he couldn't coach. The guy can't recruit worth a sh1t.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Probably because his timeline was yanked out from under him (guessing he's on the hot seat).  Had he been able to go after 4/5 year guys he'd be killing, but, well, he had to go juco because of our f'd up fanbase.   :users:

You're so full of it. You &@#%. No one would be grilling him if he went after HSer's. I am solely grilling him because he is recruiting TWENTY &@#%ING JUCOS! 20!!!! JESUS TITS!

Yeah, Bob Krause is really giving that "do or die" feel on Prince right now.  Albeit that could change if this next season is a complete disaster.

But it would be nice if Black Stan Parrish would get a commit or two to get things rolling, that's a senior in high school to be.

You can win plenty of games with lots of juco players.  I think the question about having lots of juco players pertains to whether or not you can become an elite team that could make a serious run at the national title with them.  Personally, I'm okay with settling for winning plenty of games without being a legit contender - much like ku was last year.  My only problem with Prince is that he will fail at whatever strategy he tries because he is basically a clueless f*ck up.

I'm still not understanding everyones beef with Juco's; We're still going to have a crap load of Sophomores on this years team.

What were people saying in 97...  I didn't have any KSU friends and message boards didn't exist.

"Kansas State must believe it has the opportunity to mount a greater challenge for the Big 12 football title and other national honors in the next year or two. How else to explain a 26-member recruiting class that includes 12 junior-college players? The official signing period begins today, though school officials aren't expected to confirm names until Thursday."

That's a huge difference. And, take a look at the juco top 100 list. Prince basically got crap. ku's few jucos are ranked higher than the majority of ours.

Here are our 1997 HS recruits.

Which led to the second surprise. Not only did Leber make the Parade team, but so did two other recruits -- Monty Beisel of Douglass and Julius McMillian of Altus, Okla. As much as K-State loved a Parade, none of those All-Americans had ever entered the program before. None. Suddenly, there were three.

Here are our 2008 HS recruits

other than us losing the cotton bowl we had some momentum going into that season after making a cotton bowl apperance.
Cotton Bowl Apperance>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>normal 5-7 Team>>>>>>>>>>>>5-7 team that lost its last 4 games of the season. We baisicly have NO MOMENTUM going into next season

The JUCO effect on our DOD is so incredibly overrated

from the 1997 team

12 junior college players were signed, Nine juco recruits played, four finished as starters

So look at our roster and tell me why everyone keeps saying we're going to be stuck in a cycle of having to recruit jucos.

Surely you remember last year, I believe it was right after the USC game when everyone realized Callahan was actually crap.  We have the good fortune of realizing Prince fits that same bill a few games earlier.

I remember the husker threads - "Order Restored!" and "Callahan can really recruit!  He'll return us to the promised land for sure at this rate!  Much better than that crappy staff we had before him that won games but couldn't recruit for crap..Our old style was outdated and we need to move into the new style of college football and Callahan has that"

That night after the USC defeat - "Holy crap, what have we done.  FIRE CALLAHAN!  FIRE PEDERSON!  GET SOMEONE FROM THE OLD REGIME!  SOMEONE WHO UNDERSTANDS NEBRASKA TRADITION!  SOMEONE WHO WILL WIN GAMES EVEN IF IT MEANS A FEW SEXUAL PREDATORS!  Who cares about recruiting stars anymore, I just want the old regime back so we can WIN!  Let's talk about the nineties and our awesome teams, and compare those teams to these and decide that any differences are the reason we suck now!"

Well, we're basically at that second stage right now.

So look at our roster and tell me why everyone keeps saying we're going to be stuck in a cycle of having to recruit jucos.

62    Adams, Corey  LS  6-4  230  So.  Monument, Colo. (Lewis-Palmer)
7    Brown, Lamark  WR  6-3  229  So.  Hazelwood, Mo. (Hazelwood West)
19    Cherry, Josh  PK  6-1  170  So.  McCook, Neb. (McCook)
14    Coffman, Carson  QB  6-3  200  So.  Peculiar, Mo. (Raymore-Peculiar)
93    Crews, Gabriel  DT  6-2  286  So.  Jonesboro, Ga. (Lovejoy)
59    Kendall, Zach  OL  6-3  279  So.  Peculiar, Mo. (Harrisonville)
22    Matthews, Kendrick  DB  5-10  180  So.  Fresno, Texas (Marshall)
45    Rohleder, Kevin  LB  6-1  212  So.  Wichita, Kan. (Bishop Carroll)
52    Stewart, Xzavier  DT  6-1  304  So.  Chicago, Ill. (Morgan Park)
24    Tigner, Darhnaz  DB  6-2  200  So.  Pompano Beach, Fla. (Ely)
 4    Moore, Joshua  DB  5-11  187  RSo.

Here is the list of sophomores to be that are on ship.  Sitting at 11 guys right now and 2 of them are specialists (Cherry and Adams).  There is sure to be more attrition over the next several years and there are a number of guys that I question if they'll ever be anything more then backups.  Not sure where you are seeing the "crapload" of sophomores on our roster.  After 09 we'll lose our starting QB and most of the rest of the roster hope we have a hell of a year in 09 and it's worth it because 2010 will be ugly.  There are not many freshman on the roster either and there are next to none coming into the program.

2008 University of Nebraska football recruiting list

Wayfroy P. Jackson: 6'6", 215 lbs. Wide Receiver. Hottest prospect from Alabama in the last ten years. Loves music. Will demand a mini-cassette player. Holds world record for the most "you knows" during an interview (62 in one minute). Wayfroy can print his complete name.

Cletis Quinticious Jenkins: 6'3", 220 lbs. Running Back. Set state scoring record out of Melrose High School, Charlotte, N.C. Also led the state in burglaries, but has only 9 convictions. He has been clocked at 4.2 seconds in the 40 yard dash with a 19" TV under each arm.

Roosevelt "Dude" Dansell: 6'1", 195 lbs. Running Back. From Omaha. Has processed hair and imitates Billy Dee Williams very well. Before he signed his letter of intent, he wanted the school to change colors to chartreuse and pink. Listed his church preference as "red brick".

Woodrow Lee Washington: 6'8", 310 lbs. Tackle. At 19 he's the oldest of 21 children. Mother claims
Woodrow and child number 9 have same father. He has a manslaughter trial pending but feels he will be found innocent because "The dude said something bad 'bout Momma." On his entrance form, he listed his I.Q. as 20-20.

Will "Night Train" Smith: 6'4", 225 lbs. Quarterback. Born on an Amtrak train. Birth certificate indicates he is 27 years old. Thinks the N on Nebraska's helmets stands for "Nowledge", but still meets this school's stringent entrance requirements. Insists on wearing
number 32 jersey since it matches his score on his SAT Exam.

John "Python" Peoples: 6'10", 228 lbs. Wide Receiver. Has a pending paternity suit and two rape trials, but hopes none of his other 9 victims will file charges. Tyrone had already signed letters of intent with six other colleges, but was also willing to sign with us. Likes women and Cadillacs. Thinks Taco Bell is the Mexican Telephone Company.

That get us back up there?
