Harper wouldn't have been able to plug the holes in Prince's sinking ship.  Prince is almost definitely gone within the next two years...probably after next year.

The next coach will have NOTHING.  A roster completely depleted of young talent due to reliance on Juco recruiting, and a choice between two very average pro-style QBs in Klein and Kasnnawhosit.  Would have been nice to have given Venables a choice between those statues and Harper as his QB.

LOL at Ron on the recruiting trail trying to explain why no assistant coach can stand him for more than a two years at a time (excluding coaches who had never seen the inside of a D1 facility).

The good news is that we'll all be able to look back at this era and laugh.  We'll think of it as the end of those annyoying mandatory donations on good seats at the Bill.  Won't be long before we'll be able to get chairbacks for a canned-good and a twenty.

    The very best.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

Ron will be here through at least the 2013 season.  We wouldn't fire him faster than we fired Wooly would we?  :banghead:

I remember I called for Prince's head after the ku loss and I practically got lynched for it. Now everyone else is on the bandwagon. Man I'm smart.

There will be plenty of season tix available in the upper deck and bowl next year.  It's probably gonna take another year or two before some good chairbacks come available...

they could really use another schollie for a defensive player anyway.  They are doing pretty well with the juco kids and Franklin wasn't recruiting any of them.  IF they could somehow pull off a miracle and get a couple of these juco d-line studs in January to sign on, then your prediction of demise might just get demised.  Prince knows he really only needs one big year of success to win people over and 2009 is a big opportunity.  NU, ku, and MU will all have heavy turnover in their programs.  KSU will have 3 home games in the north again.  TTech will have a new QB.  Freeman will be a senior.  2009 is Prince's shot to make something happen.  I"m hoping it does.

It's times like this that we need to remember stars and rankings are completely meaningless.

I'm sure losing out on Harper really won't have much of an impact.

I'm sure K-State would have made a run at the title in 98' with or without Bishop, for instance.  We were like literally just a few plays away from being undefeated in 04' with Meier, and that guy didn't have a single scholarship offer from anyone.

True.  KSU football under RP is  :flush: no matter who he signs.
