DeNeg says that with out a doubt, ku drops one to Toledo, and drops it hard. Maybe then BMW will shut up about how good he thinks his Jayhawks are :billypopcorn:

Uh, no.  If they were away, maybe.  But this is Toledo we're talking about here.  They're pretty bad.  It's gonna be another massacre.

ku will get their first test when they come to Manhattan.

Uh, No, it is ku we are talking about. The Kansas School for the blind could beat up on Central Michigan. It will be close, and Fat coach struggles in tight games

Toledo is 0-2, coming off a 20+ point loss to Central Michigan.  The same Central Michigan that ku crushed by like 50 points.

I'd say it's a pretty safe bet ku wins this one.

ku will beat Toledo 79-0 at which point all the other 118 teams will quit the rest of the year and award them the national championship.  There will be no point in continuing the season and risking further injury.  All hail ku.

Mangino tried to get a stronger OOC, but all of the teams in BCS conferences (USC, Florida, Ohio State to name a few) were too scared to play them.  So they are forced to play D-1aa and MAC teams.

K-State fans, of all people, are the last ones who can talk about weak OOC sheduling.

This schedule is perfectly set up for an 12-0 season, if a team is good.  No OOC competition, OU & Texas not played, NU & MO at home.  There's probably 40+ teams out there whose fan base would consider losing more than 2 games with ku's schedule a disappointing season.  Is ku dreaming of 7 or 8 wins?

ku fans use to laugh at Ksu playing a weak non-con, but now that they have the weakest non-con in the country, they seem to believe it is justified to build on a program.

ku will be 4-0.... but then they have to leave home and play 5 of their next 8 games away from Lowrents.

We all know how good ku does away from their home field in the Big 12 under fatboy.   2-19 .... LOL

Say hello to 2-6 and 6-6 overall.  Now that is bowl eligible, so ku fans should be content.   Maybe, just maybe they get a 3rd win and go 3-5.  Of course that is still not .500 or better and that won't get them in the top half of the North (surprise, surprise)

*A GREAT RUMBLING OF BASS AND MUCH SHAKING*
Phreak's got it right. Toledo is a mess right now, especially on defense. Apparently they're having issues with personnel:

"junior wide receiver Andre Redd has been moved to cornerback because of... injury problems in the secondary... he is currently #2 on the depth chart behind a true freshman walk-on that started against CMU Saturday."

They're also giving up an average of 475 yards on defense against not exactly stellar competition. ku would have to have an all-systems failure to botch this game, really. The first test of the year will be in Manhattan for the Hawks.

I can't speak for all ku fans but I know I used to make fun of KSU's WEAK OOC schedule when they were consistantly ranked in the top 20 and then would whine about not making a better bowl game.

I have no problem with any team who has been bad in the past padding their schedule with some easy wins. It helps recruiting, confidence for your players, and excitment for the fans. I will be the first one to rip Mangino if we are consistantly ranked and he is still scheduling cupcakes like he is now. My point is that there is a difference between what ksu did when they were towards the top of the big 12, and what ku is doing now.

No there isn't. This isn't year 1 of the Mangino era. This is year 6. The time has already come to schedule tougher.
It is a tragedy because now, we have at least an extra month without Cat football until next year. I hate wasting my life away but I can hardly wait until next year.

year 6 doesn't mean that the other 5 were very successful does it? Yes there has been a lot of improvement, but I think this will be the year to see exactly how good ku is. They HAVE to win on the road this year, and they have to win 8-9 games at least! I don't agree that the number of years since a coach has been at a program determines how they should make their schedule.

Yes they do, but they won't.

And Mangino = gone  :crybaby:

Maybe they will maybe they won't. Either way I doubt that Mangino is gone. I don't really care either way. I like the improvements that he has made since he's been here, but I don't think he deserved the huge pay day he got and I don't know if he is the guy to take ku to the next level. We'll see I guess.
